Default Pre-twilight in Syrians?

I've noticed over the last few months or so, Bianca, is sleeping more than usual and we don't really see each other as much. No health concerns, no nothing. All is good on that front. I wouldn't have said she was a lazy hamster since I don't believe rodents in general are even capable of laziness unlike other animals. She is coming up to twelve months now and I was wondering whether or not pre-twilight was a thing. My youngest hamster, Scott, is 6 months and he has been up since roughly 8:30 this evening while, Bianca, is still fast asleep.

It could be she's poorly at the moment, she's not really old enough to be slowing down. Or maybe she is getting up very early as it gets light so early, and she's gone to bed before you're up.
Check if she's storing food and using up her store normally, has she lost or put on weight?

They are crepuscular rather than nocturnal, which means they can nap during the night and also the evening and aren't strictly asleep all day and awake all night. However with the lighter nights, hamsters often start coming out earlier and being more active, so if it seems out of character, then as Ruth says, do check if everything is ok. She is not old and they are often still very active at that age.

However their lifespan for old age can be from 18 months to 2 years and it may be she has some ailment that needs checking out. When she does wake up and come out, does she seem well and active? Bright eyes? Alert. If so I shouldn't worry too much.

Check things like water bottle letting out water ok - to make sure she isn't dehydrated. Maybe give her a checkover as well. Female hamsters can get Pyometra - an infection of the womb. That would usually have signs like a discharge or bleeding.

I do think you can get lazy hamsters though! Our last Syrian was a real home-bod lazy sleepyhead!
