Re: Meet Monsieur Marshall!
He’s gorgeous! Such a sweet face. He’s a Black hamster (they can look quite brown and do go browner with age). Does look just normal black but the full white belly & head spot are dominant spot traits, unless it’s just bad colouring - hope someone can clarify.

Re: Meet Monsieur Marshall!
He already climbs my hands and is not afraid.
He's now called Luciano because his first name just didn't fit him.

Luciano suits him better. He's so cute and adorable.

Re: Meet Monsieur Marshall!
He's doing very well. Not the most 'social' hamster, rather does hs own thing. Does accept treats from the hand and is not bothered by me or the ladies yet. Not really interested in further interactions with me thus far.
He is curious though, and seems to react to his nicknames. Either "Luci" or "Luus"
One thing I find funny is that he sleeps in a cage corner, right beside te wheel. I gave him a large tub, a house and a shoebox to sleep in. But...he really likes sleeping in the corner. He covers it up with toiletpaper and is quite busy with rearranging his nest.
So I can see him laying in all kinds of positions. Once I saw him sleeping on his back! Does this mean anything special? Or is he uncertain about things? My other hamsters all prefer to sleep in houses/holes.

Re: Meet Monsieur Marshall!
I always find it adorable when they sleep in the strangest places. Maybe when it starts getting colder outside and the clocks change he'll move to his house.

Re: Meet Monsieur Marshall!
He has a proper house now he loves! It's a multichamber house I got from Zooplus. All my hams love these.
He's also a lot braver. Since a day or two he explores a lot more and climbs willingly on the hand. I think another week or two to three and then maybe he's ready for the playpen.

Re: Meet Monsieur Marshall!
Glad he’s enjoying his house! I’ve seen those house but they aren’t available in my area. I could make one easily but am to lazy! I’m so happy for you and him that he is warming up to you!

Re: Meet Monsieur Marshall!
Some pictures made last night.
He's still doing great. Climbed on my arms and wasn't as hesitant as before.
Wheel running has becoming less, he now explores the cage more and seems to be feeling at home in the Plaza.
