Razor. Apologies for the late replies been very busy. Maple loved my dad's homegrown sweetcorn - it is the best sweetcorn as it full of flavour - I love seeing my hamster expressions when they can smell it as they get really excited, I even had to use it to bribe Maple last night that it was time to go back into her cage. I loved seeing her fast asleep in her cork log, I knew I had to get a photo as she looked so relaxed as I don't often see my hamsters asleep so couldn't miss this opportunity.
Coco61, Maple is the same colour all over apart from her white chin stripe which is hard to see due to her fur being satin (some of the photo in my posts today you can just see it).

Maple's Updates and Her Mansion New Layout
Maple has been really enjoying coming out in the evening and when she hear me openning the lid of her cage she is out in a flash - waiting for her transport box to be placed in her cage. Some night she is a little more nervous than other - so is a little jumpy when she hears an unfamiliar sound but she is getting more accustomed to the everyday household noises. I am really enjoying having our cuddles on the sofa as she enjoying exploring the sofa, climbing over me, running from hand to hand plus has also started trying to go down my sleeves. I have been loving spending this time with her in the evening as I getting to know more of her cheeky quirks.
Maple has been getting really spoilt to lots of new chew toys and treats the last couple of weeks. I placed an online order on a website I like to get natural chew toys from - minipetz - they have such a good selection of chew toys made out of natural materials - plus bought some treats and a flower taster pack for Maple to try - she actually really like the flowers and gobbles them up really quick. As well as these new treats I have recently stocked up on the Vitakraft Emotion treat range - as they were on clearance at p@h for 50p a bag (normally £2.99) - these were one of the only store bought treats Pumpkin used to eat so they must be tasty - so Maple has a huge selection to try. I also like them as they are sugar free.
Here is a photo of my haul from Minipetz...
(0The flowers in the taster pack are Hibiscus, Marigold, Chamomile, Rose Petal and Cornflowers.)
On Tuesday I decided it was time to give Maple Mansion a little makeover as it was starting to look quite untidy. I had held off giving Maple's cage a clean as I didn't know how she would react to a new layout. I felt like it was the right time on Tuesday, so I replaced about 1/5 of the fitch with new fitch and have given her a new layout. Maple spent the duration of her cage clean in her playbox and was very content - when it was time to go back in her cage she happily explored the new layout and didn't seem at all phased by the clean at all.
I did decided to move Maple's house beneath her wooden wheel as a way to encourage her to sleep inside her house, however I think she has decided that she doesn't want to sleep inside a house and is now sleeping beneath the stand for her silent runner. At least she is using her sand bath as a toilet so spot cleans are really easy. I also thought I would also try introducing her to a water bowl - as personally I find them more hygienic and also much easier to clean - although at the moment she is still preferring her bottle over the bowl. Also Maple was better with the hoover - like always I waited until she went to bed but this time she didn't freak out - so progress is being made.
So this is how Maple's cage looks now after her cage clean - photos were taken today so cage isn't as tidy as it was on Tuesday ...
I did have a difficult time taking photos of Maple exploring her new layout, as 1. she is very fast, 2. she satin so my camera has a hard time focusing on her and 3. I placed lots of the larger items in the way obstructing perfect photos opportunities. Here are two photos that weren't too bad ...
