Re: Norbert's Thread
Thank you everyone for your responses! I am definitely looking to either get or make a platform.
Coco61 Oh my goodness I just looked at Maestro's thread, I don't know how I missed it! He is utterly gorgeous. The blue and white hideaway was originally plain wood but I [attempted to] paint it to look like a beach hut with a little water based enamel plastikote! I believe I could attach hanging toys from the mesh however Norbert has already shown signs of being generally a bit of a clumsy hamster, so I'm not sure I'd trust him with anything like that just yet!
flowerfairy- Thank you! Norbert was in an Alaska cage while living at the breeders and had just started to bar chew, you can see a little bald patch just above his nose where he had rubbed it, the little monkey.
.................................................. .................................................. .
Unfortunately I woke up this morning with a cold, so handling is going to be kept to a minimum until I am better. However, I am still continuing with bonding and taming, letting him have the run of the bath for a little bit when he wakes up of an evening!
He did really well again today, we had a couple of little stress stretches in the beginning but other than that he seemed to have a lovely time romping about the bath tub.
I found this very lovely elephant shaped ceramic 'string holder' in a thrift shop and thought it would make a great hamster hideaway! I think Norbert approves.
Obligatory meerkat pose
"What did you say this was again?"
"Heck it's delicious!"

Re: Norbert's Thread
I love that you personalized the little hideaway and made it into a beach hug; it really complements your seashell sandbath container. Even the adorable elephant hideaway goes well since elephants are fond of the water, too. I love these latest pics of your cutie pie. He is such a handsome little ham-fellow. I always enjoy hammies meerkatting and hoovering up their treats - so funny!!!! It looks like he enjoyed his baby corn and that fourth pic is just too precious with his priceless expression. The last pic looks like he is daydreaming after a fun-filled adventure on the beach.

Re: Norbert's Thread
Love the cage, I agree with Cypher about putting in a shelf, hams do love to hide.
I so smiled and melted at these mega cute pics, that last pic is my favourite, that little face of beauty, cuteness, fluffiness, cheekiness and innocence. I love him!

Re: Norbert's Thread
Great photos of Norbert, love him with the baby corn and the last one is a cracker.
That type of ceramic hideaway is very good in this hot weather for sitting in and cooling off.
