Re: Maestro is here!
Thank you for asking dreamtree, it stirred me into action.
This time last week we were in the middle of another 6 days of extremely hot weather. Full alert for Maestro and all methods in use to keep things cooler around his cage. I did not trouble him much, just making sure the little nose came out of his nest each evening for a delivery to his doorstep for veg in bed. Cucumber or lettuce to help with hydration.
It is cooler now after much needed rain.
Last night Maestro was waiting in his Sputnik as I was later than usual with evening feeding. He came out of the cage to find his treat. I took the opportunity to take some photos. Once over, I gave him a chunk of baby sweet corn. He tried and failed to pouch it in one, so sat on my hands carving it into chunks to pouch. Then it was into his Sputnik, out of the back door, down and into his house in triumph with his treat. He wanted to eat in peace obviously. I had to laugh and said goodnight!

Re: Maestro is here!
Here are the photos. H tried to help at first because Maestro was being a bit wriggly! This was the only one that worked-a bit!

This is the best one showing his coat colour

Now He is looking at me a bit reproachfully, peeping out from on top of the chair cushion.

Lastly another when he was sitting still, but the flash washed out his coat colour.

Re: Maestro is here!
Beautiful photos of the handsome Maestro - his colouring is stunning - I really like the photo of him peering out from behind the cushion.
Glad you managed to keep Maestro cool during this recent hot weather - the rain has really helped cool things down now.
So lovely hearing how he tried to stuff the whole chunk of baby sweetcorn into his pouch and once returned to his cage disappeared of to eat in private!

Re: Maestro is here!
Lovely photos of Maestro, he is such a handsome man & such a lovely colour.
I do love that one where he's peeking out from the cushions!
His antics with the baby corn really made me laugh too

Re: Maestro is here!
Wonderful pics Coco of your handsome Maestro. So lovely to see him having a good look and him peeking out from the cushion is so cute.
I so laughed at him sitting in your hand and breaking up the chunk of Sweetcorn making it easier to pouch, that must've felt brilliant him being so relaxed. The sputnik being his fave place to eat his well deserved treat made me go Aww!

Re: Maestro is here!
Thank you SKB, dreamtree, cypher and TL. Glad you approve of how Maestro is growing up. Later this month he will be 6 months old and I suppose officially an adult ham. Time flies! I must make sure I weigh him around then too. I will post then again.
Interesting, dreamtree, the reply from Souffle on the Show thread, about ideal show weight for a Syrian. I think Maestro will be a little smaller than ideal for a show ham but I may well take him to my closest show next month. Pet class only again.

Time sure flies, can't believe Maestro's almost 6 months. He still has the babyiness in him.

Re: Maestro is here!
Wow, time really is flying by so quickly! It feels like no time at all since you first introduced this charismatic cutie pie to all of us. I agree with Thin Lizzy; he really does still have the absolute baby cuteness about him. I will be wishing you, H, and Maestro a magnificent 6 Months Birthday to Maestro on that day later this month. I look forward to seeing his celebration updates and great pics too. I also thought it was really interesting to read Souffle's response in the Show Thread concerning the ideal show weight for Syrians. Although Maestro is a bit smaller than ideal, he more than makes up for it in charm, personality, and incredible looks. I think it will be wonderful to have him compete in another show again as he did so well in the other one. I will be hoping that your adorable and handsome Maestro will charm the judges again and bring home another lovely rosette to add to the one he won in the Andover show a couple months ago. Best of luck on the next show, Coco and Maestro. You are total winners in my book.
