My little Penny

Hello, I'm new around here and my little floof ball Penny is even newer. I was told she's 8 weeks old at the pet shop but she seems very small for 8 weeks but she might have been a runt so who knows. Anyways i've not had a hamster for a long time so penny is keeping me on my toes!

She was super jumpy when I got her home but she's settled down quite a bit after the first two days. Now we're on day 4 and she's happily taking food for my hand and seems to be actively looking for my hand when I'm next to the cage. So i think she's going to turn out to be a real smart cookie and tamed in no time. (at least I'm hoping so!)

Penny was kind of a semi-planned birthday present. I had the cage and set up all ready (in fact I had had it ready for the last 4 months XD) I just hadn't got around to buying the hampster to go in it. So my mum took me out to a few pet shops and I fell in love with Penny at the first one and couldn't stop thiking about her going around two more. So we went back and got her.


P.s Apologies for the horrifically burry photo. The only pics I've taken are of her in the travel pod on the way home. I haven't wanted to bother her unessaserly while she's been settling in.
p.ss the substrate in the travel pod was from the pet shop... I have her on carefresh ^_- only the best for my little floof ball <3

Penny seems like a wonderful hamster! Just know it does take a few days for them to settle down, which you've seemed to nail down already. Hope you and your furry new friend have a great one!
