meet Lola but..
Hi i got new hammy in Jan.14
meet Lola she's domint spot black syrian hamster
I don't know her ages is my guess she's 4 months old
because she much bigger then my 3 months half babies I had
I went to pet store just get treat for hamsters
But I saw her falling love with her
I was keep thinking about getting her or not
about 10 mins later...
she let employee pick her up he said
she's very sweet
I end her taking her home
I put her in a cage gave her food and water
she love running on wheel
second day she was having brown soft droppings which smell awful
sleeping lot... I thought she was try get used to her new home
I'm keeping on eyes on her
second day I end up cleaning cage because smell was very awful
so I call my vet asking her she having soft smell brown droppings
vet told me bring her right away
so I called pet store where I got her
she told me bring her back
so I bring her after my work was done in Jan. 16
employee told me it's wet tail
I asked her are you sure?
she said yep i'm sure it's wet tail
they told me we had take her to vet tomorrow
you can get her back when she feel better
so after I done with work went to pet store
asking her how she's doing
employee came up to me said she's just came back from vet vet told us it's wet tail you bring her just in time she will be fine
I clean her cage, water dish, wheel with Bleach still air drying...
my vet told me some hamsters can died during treatment even I took her early
I wish Lora will come home with me again

Re: meet Lola but..
Hi there.
Congrats on getting Lola. I'm so sorry she's come down with wet tail Usually it's due to stress- Syrians are at great risk of getting it when you first bring them home, because they haven't settled in to their surroundings.
I'm not quite sure you should use bleach when cleaning hamster cages- you might want to ask a more experienced owner on here though, since I'm not positive if it's safe or not.
I hope Lola recovers!! I will pray for her
