Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
I love Jeeves latest pics. His coloring is absolutely lovely, too. It sounds like your daughter and Jeeves have become quite great friends over her three days visit. What great fun you all must have had together! I'm glad to hear that Jeeves is becoming all the more confident now and definitely hope that you will have plenty of playtime opportunities with you precious little ham.

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
My baby Jeeves was 4 months old last Friday. I never dreamt for a nano second that my next update about him was to tell you all that he has gone to the bridge.
All seemed well on Friday as he tackled treats with enthusiasm. On Sunday night I was concerned when he came to me for his treats, still taking them gently from my hand. His ears were flat down and I knew I must keep a close eye on him. Monday night, his ears were down still, he had not used his wheel and he seemed somewhat pear shaped. In the morning I rang the vet as they opened but could not get an appointment for 24 hrs. So last night I was very worried as he seemed worse. This morning, I went to get him for the vet visit. I started talking to him to wake him gently, but I was too late. He was in his forever sleep.
I know enough from all I have read here, that our little ones are delicate and things can gather pace quickly. However I am still left in a state of stunned shock because he was so very young.
I could not go to work just leaving him. My husband took me to buy a pot- green where Mocho's is blue. Not much choice of plant this early but I chose a mini daffodil that will flower soon and then an English Lavender to come on later. So he is buried with dignity.
Sleep well my baby boy Jeeves. I am sure Mocho, Jarvis and others were there to welcome you as you crossed the rainbow bridge. Restored to full health, I hope you can now play with them and know that even in your short life, you were much loved and will be missed. I did my best for you always.
Much love from your heartbroken Mum xxx

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
Coco I'm so very sorry, this must have been a terrible shock for you, it's so devastating to lose a hamster so young, I can't say how sorry I am that your lovely Jeeves had such a short time with you. Hugs to you.
Your choice of pot & flowers sounds like a lovely resting place for him.
Run free & play well at the bridge Jeeves, have fun with Mocho & Jarvis.

Thank you Serendipity, CMB and cypher. It's been awful dealing with the cage. Just does not seem right.

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
I am sure it must be terrible - he was only just settling in really. So very sad the little man had such a short life - he was lucky to have it with you though. An awful shock for you - and a loss.

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
Oh, no! I am terribly sorry to hear of the sudden loss of your beloved Jeeves. I definitely understand the shock you are going through and my heart goes out to you and your husband during this very sad time. Although Jeeves was only with you for a short time, you filled his life with the utmost love and care; he couldn't have wished for a better mum. He was a truly special little ham who was so loved by us all and he will be greatly missed on HC. Please know that we are here for you and I am sending you lots of hugs. His resting place plant pot and plant sound lovely, and I know it will bring you comfort when you see the gorgeous daffodil blooming shortly. Hugs. xxx
Rest in peace, darling Jeeves. Have many wonderful adventures with Mocho, Jarvis, and all your other friends who are waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. Please send a special rainbow to your loving mum and dad who love you so.

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
Thank you Serendipity and also to you dreamtree for your very kind words when you are also grieving for the loss of your beautiful Snickers. It is a difficult time and the support and understanding here makes it a little easier.
