Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
IMG_0017.JPGYesterday Jeeves was 10 weeks old and I decided that his wheel needed to go in his cage. He had only tried it out twice very carefully in his playpen.
Before doing that, I hung up some new lights. I found a string of red lights in the Xmas section of the supermarket. Rudolf's red nose glows again and again! Then I added the wheel. That meant moving the Sputnik to where the Barney house was. I discovered that had been used as a potty as well as his proper potty. So the Barney house came out. The salt pig sand bath has no shelf now the roof of the house has gone, so is on top of the cage until I can re think. I have his new house to go in place of the shoebox and want to hang up the Sputnik with a rat tunnel and wooden slopes but this was enough of a change for one evening.
I turned off all the lights except the red ones and waited. Didn't take long. Jeeves was out exploring and the wheel was soon in action.
No photos of the little man himself so here is his set up with festive lights!

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
Aww, I'm so glad that little Jeeves enjoyed his wheel with the festive Rudolph lights to add to the ambiance, lol. Love the lights and the new cage setup. Jeeves is one lucky ham.

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
When the lights go out, the fun begins. So happy he's using his wheel. I really like his cage set up and those lights.

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
Ooh that looks lovely - I do like the lights! Excellent that he is using his wheel. I like the layout too. Looking at it, maybe the corner where the Barney house was, and the sputnik now is, could be the corner he decided would be a good toilet. So he may move his pee area now (or pee in the sputnik lol). I can see you'd be itching to adjust and add a few things. I think it should be interesting for him just that extra little adjustment. If the sputnik hung in that corner the sandbath could go underneath it maybe, and then he might use it as a toilet as well. But then where would the rat tube go. Takes some thinking about!
I'm sure now he has his wheel he'll build in confidence and be out and about more. Just remembering - I had my rat sputnik in that corner in front of the wheel but a bit towards the door at the front and the sand bath under it there - and the roof tube reached to the house top that way. Plus Charlie used to like climbing into the sputnik through the door because it was part over the door. If it helps. But you might want it different with the other things you have in the cage.

Hope you don't mind me adding these of Charlie demonstrating how to climb out of the cage via the Sputnik!

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
Nice setup for Jeeves. I hope he likes it. If he has chosen a pee corner, putting his toilet in that corner may encourage him to use it.
