Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
Hopefully the playpen will get a visit from Jeeves soon. It will be a special moment when he takes food from you. I have recently has that moment with one of my hamsters and am also looking forward to it with my other new hamster (I got both the same day, but one is barely seen)

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
Aww, Jeeves is such a precious darling, Coco! I just noticed this wonderful thread as I haven't been on the forum much lately due to all the Thanksgiving festivities with family and friends. I am so thrilled that you again have the pitter patter of hammy paws and wheels spinning in your home again! I know that Sir Mocho is smiling from above as well. Jeeves is so handsome. I love his gorgeous coloring and his first pic is truly adorable and made me smile. I love his name, too! He is truly lucky to have you as his devoted, loving mum. I look forward to hearing more about your new cutie and seeing more pics whenever he is willing to share his darling images with all his devoted fans, lol. Congrats again and enjoy your dear fur baby!

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
Thank you dreamtree. Jeeves is very sweet but I have only seen his face peeping out of his house a couple of times this past week. So no more photos.
CMB, I decided this evening to be more proactive. I used the cardboard tube again with a little piece of cashew nut in it which he has never had. That coaxed him in and then into the playpen. He still moves around cautiously, not really looking happy to be out. One visit to his wheel for longer but he is not running on it yet. If my hand is near, then into reverse gear. Until the end when I finally got him to take some seeds from my hand though he took some persuading.
I bought some new fitch this week. The last of Mocho's is nearly used. They had a new product. 15kgs in a cardboard box. Hope it is in a bag inside! Perhaps they thought it better for storage. Delivered in 48 hours. Box not that strong but tidier.

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
That is progress! He actually sat in the wheel. I sometimes used to hide bits of food and treats in various parts of the playpen - inside a tube or a hide eg and that got Newt exploring a bit. I think Newt took a bit of working out that a wheel turned It sounds like Jeeves is getting more familiar with you too, eating out of your hand. He'll soon get used to being lifted out in a tube and I think it can be good for them to get used to being lifted up so they get less scared of it. He sounds very sweet.

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
Firstly my sincere apologies Coco, for not posting earlier, I was so pleased when you told me about your new man. Now I get to see Jeeves up close and I'm totally in love with him. He's so going to be spoiled with so much love and Sir Mocho will be so happy that you've got a new ham.
Jeeves is absolutely fluffy beautiful and I look forward to seeing and hearing his progress. XXX

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
Great to hear that you & Jeeves have been making some progress Coco, I'm sure he'll soon get to enjoy climbing into his tube & exploring the playpen some more.

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
I am so happy for the two of you that Jeeves decided to take some seeds from your hand. That is definitely great progress. I'm sure he will get braver as the days go by; after all, how could he not do so considering he has a wonderful, loving, and patient mum like you. He is a real, REAL cutie!!!

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
Thank you all for your encouragement. I am giving him the evening off tonight in case he becomes upset at all the sea creatures eating each other in Blue Planet. He could see the TV from his playpen!

Re: Welcome to Jeeves!
He probably wants to eat them too I remember when we were taming Charlie and he was very skittish, I used to put music on. Run rabbit run he seemed to like.
