If you use mesh with small gaps then it could be ok. Try to use as few individual pieces of mesh as possible, as it would have less sharp bits and less to link togeather.

Eg a square/rectangle and then coming of each side of that another square/rectangle. This could then be bent into shape and joined at the corners.

Any doors would need cutting out and meshed separately.
