Re: Introducing kenneth!
Hahaha, that's always the way, say one thing and they have to prove you wrong by doing the opposite

Re: Introducing kenneth!
I decided to treat Kenny and bought him a Trixie hanging hammock thing for his hamster Heaven. I couldn't wait to see him in it. Sadly, he hates it! He refuses to go near it and has actually started bar biting! Is it his way of telling me to remove it? He does not normally chew the bars at all, I think it's unsettled him? Should I just remove it now or wait to see if he gets used to it? I don't want him to be stressed of course.

Re: Introducing kenneth!
Remove it, but leave it next to the cage out of reach so he can see it. You could let him smell it and walk on it when he is out of his cage to get him used to it. Then try having it in his cage again.

Re: Introducing kenneth!
That's a good idea to try, CMB. I did remove it and the bar biting stopped and he seemed happy again, but maybe I'll let him explore it during playtime and see if he might give it another chance. He's certainly a ham who knows what he wants! So cute.

Re: Introducing kenneth!
Haven't posted in a while! Kenny is still going strong, he's pretty huge now, deffo a fully grown adult ham now! He still likes to come out for cuddles, although sometimes he'll sit still but other times he tries to make a mad run for it. Like tonight, we were just sitting on the bed chilling, when the tap in the bathroom dripped and spooked him and he made a dash for it! In the end I had to grab him, which wasn't ideal but he was heading for the edge of the bed. So I managed to get hold of him round the middle and he waggled his legs in protest. After that he wouldn't calm down so I put him back in his Hamster Heaven and he's now chilling on his shelf and giving me evil looks the cheeky boy. I just love his cute face though! I love hamster's bright eyes and the little pink vibrating noses!

Re: Introducing kenneth!
Lovely to hear that Kenneth is still doing well and is now fully grown. Poor Kenneth getting spooked by the tap dripping - glad you manage to stop him heading off the edge of the bed.

Re: Introducing kenneth!
I'm so pleased to hear that Kenny is thriving in your loving care. He looks so handsome in his latest pic - definitely not a baby anymore. Silly boy getting frightened of the tap dripping sound. I'm relieved that he didn't get a chance to dash off the bed or you both would have had a real unexpected adventure.
