Re: Introducing kenneth!
You sure have a lovely bond with Kenny; I'm so happy for the two of you. I think it is so sweet that he preferred coming to you instead of having a quick nibble of his treat first. What a sweet little fellow you have. Taming is going great. Have fun!

Re: Introducing kenneth!
So just had Kenny out for a quick play, all was going well until he decided to jump off my arm and on to the floor! Luckily I was already sitting on the floor so he wasn't hurt or anything but he very nearly got away, I managed to sort of scoop him into the taming box which was nearby...do you think he got scared and that's why he jumped? I've put him back in the cage now and he's peeking out at me looking cheeky!

Re: Introducing kenneth!
It's hard to tell why he jumped. Sometimes hammies jump because they are scared; other times they do so because they are being overly inquisitive or adventurous. It also depends on your particular hammy. Some tend to jump quite bit; whereas, others never jump. I am glad that you were sitting at the time that he jumped and Kenny is alright.

Re: Introducing kenneth!
Thanks Dreamtree! I think tomorrow evening I'll get him out again but this time will sit in the bathtub and then then he just run about and explore but he won't be able to get away and disappear! And then keep doing that until he's more calm. I hope I didn't scare him tonight. It did seem like he wanted to come and play!

Re: Introducing kenneth!
Males do tend to be a bit calmer than females in my experience. Of course, personality varies from hamster to hamster, but it's a pretty accurate generalization IMO. He's looking very cute Glad to hear taming is going well

Re: Introducing kenneth!
Bad news about Kenny, last night he had a massive bar chewing session for about half an hour maybe more. I guess that means he's not very happy! Woke up to the dreaded sound. Poor Kenny, I don't want him to be miserable!
