Re: Introducing kenneth!
Well, today I have quite the tale to tell. Kenny runs for hours in his wheel at night. Unfortunately his wheels has recently started rattling really loudly, I'm not quite sure why. It's a large Trixie wheel, it was quite quiet at first? Anyway, he lives in my bedroom but Mr Turrican was getting very cross because hammy was keeping him awake, so at about 3am I moved Kenny's cage to another room. All ok. Anyway, in the morning, I decided to move Kenny back to my bedroom as in the spare room his cage barely fits and sort of blocks the door, lol. At this point Kenny is fast asleep tucked up in his little house. Those of you familiar with the Hamster Heaven cage will know that it has little plastic carry handles on the roof, so i gently and carefully lifted the cage up, when suddenly, snap! A handle broke off and I dropped the cage! And of course it totally fell to bits, the tray came disconnected from the bars part, the wheel flew across the room, and all the substrate went to one side of the tray in a big heap! Was absolutely terrifying! So I scrambled to put it back together before he could run away, whilst saying lots of, ahem, choice words to myself. As for Kenny, I thought he was going to be so frightened and upset, but he literally just poked his head out and sniffed around for a minute before going back to bed and I could hear him nibbling on something. I can laugh about it now but it was awful! Anyway, I will not be attempting to move the cage ever again without taking Kenny out first! I couldn't help but giggle though as I think the handles broke off becuase Kenny is such a big fat boy! I hope he has forgiven me and would like some cuddles tonight.

Re: Introducing kenneth!
Sounds like Kenny had quite the adventure even if he was totally oblivious to it

Re: Introducing kenneth!
Update: After the adventure this morning we've had our little play session and he seemed fine. Did three poops on my arm so business as usual!

Re: Introducing kenneth!
Wow, that was quite the adventure! I would have been terrified and shocked, too! Luckily for all that everything turned out fine in the end and now you can laugh about it. I love that Kenny was totally oblivious to all the excitement and went straight back to bed with a few nibbles on his yummy treats. He is such a silly, SILLY boy! I just love him, his carefree spirit, and crack-me-up humor.

Re: Introducing kenneth!
You must've gotten quite a fright, for Kenny an adventure, so glad everything is fine.

Re: Introducing kenneth!
Had lovely cuddles with Kenny last night. He was quite happy to let me stroke him and fuss over him, stroking his soft back, aww. I also couldn't resist holding him briefly against my cheek to feel his silky fur on my face, he's soooo soft! Then, Mr Turrican appeared and asked to hold him. He put his hands out and Kenny stepped on to them, then turned round and ran back to me, lol. After that Kenny did two poops on me, as if to say "Don't you give me away ever again, woman" Ha ha.

Re: Introducing kenneth!
Kenny sounds so laid back and affectionate! I never could get the handles fixed onto my Barney cage so I can't lift it by the handles Nightmare! Anyway glad all was fine. Charlie, our last Syrian, was like that with my other half as well. If I left the room for a couple of minutes when he was out on the sofa, leaving OH to keep an eye on him, he would freeze and not move until I came back in and then look at me as if to say - how COULD you leave me with that man! That man who moves about and makes noises!
