It may just be the heat that's making him seem not quite right Rads, his weight staying up is a good sign though, keep it up Ghost!

This heat has had its challenges, I've found MH cage a bit smellier. Good to hear Ghost's weight has increased. Also his weight loss could've been related to you being away on holiday, this little cutie missed his master.

TL Ghosts' weight was going down before we went away on holiday, with this heat he moves to different places in his cage at the days warmest he moves from his nest to sleep under his wheel, I have tried giving him cold stones, and chilled his ceramic pot down in the freezer, he now uses it to poo in...! May be he is trying to tell me to leave well alone. So I just make sure he has chilled veg, salad and fruit in his bowl every evening and a pea sized bit of yogurt on a spoon as a special treat, Ghostie has what he wants and leaves what he doesn't, which is disposed of as soon as poss.

He does have the worst bed hair when he gets up after a long sleep in all this heat too....

I saw today a frozen veg recall from Aldi this was Sweetcorn and mixed veg.
I have been giving Ghost sweetcorn /mixed veg defrosted of course from Aldi I have now thrown these away
I wonder if his weight loss could have been from a gut infection brought on by these foods?
The reason they have been withdrawn/recalled is for lysteria/lysteriosis. I know it is just a thought but???

I saw the recall on the frozen veg too.
Thank goodness we have been using Birdseye veg for the past few weeks so haven't had to chuck anything.
It could be possible that Ghost has picked up a stomach infection from something he's eaten but I would think if lysteria was the cause he would've been having severe diarrhoea from it. That bug is really nasty.
Have you given him any new foods to try lately? Or more of a certain fresh food than usual? An intolerance might mess with his digestive system and cause some unexplained weight loss.

Happy anniversary for Ghost, Rads, even if there is a tinge of sadness for Pip.
She was a lovely girl and you posted some wonderful photos of her. Ghost has his own special character that is very endearing too. Our little furries are so different, no wonder there is always room for another.

Happy Gotcha Day Ghost!

Rad's, I also think that could've been the cause of Ghost's weight loss. There's been quite a bit about it in the papers and on the news. I only use Bird's Eye Frozen Steam Packs.
When I first heard about it, I doubled and treble checked the list, there's now over 50 listed items. Asda hasn't been affected by it but, it still made me check over and over.
They say as long as you cook them to the instructions, it should be fine but, hamsters have little stomachs and more sensitive.

Hi and Thanks for Ghosts Gotcha Day well wishes both here and on Instagram, from me he has had a full cage clean and slight re-model, he seemed not to be impressed...!
Also weighed him and he was 180g, so he seems pretty stable..
