Lovely pics, I can see Ghost is going to be quite a character but always managing to perfect the innocent look. His eyes look so funny in the demon ghost pic lol. My favourite one is Ghost peeking out from his coconut house with his non-demon eyes

The pictures all look great quality to me - better than I manage on my phone! Loving Ghost's bowl. It's very sweet when they are still young and small enough to sit inside. Glad to see Ghost appreciating green bean - and that carrot in his bowl too! Those are two veggies Quigley won't touch. Ghost shall have to tell him ishat he's missing.

Evening folks of HC,

Ghosts taming is going very slowly, he is still very skitterish around me though that doesn't surprise me as he is only about 10 weeks old, what I have noticed is that once he is in his wheel he becomes totally obsessed with it, he will only come out briefly for a quick nibble of something then straight back in.

Obviously I don't want to cause him stress or freak him out even, once he is up before he goes into his wheel he seems quite amiable.

He gets up at approx. 21.30 and is still going strong when I get up at 05.00 which seems to be his cue to go to bed...

I tried him with a cherry tonight which he seemed to like as well as his apple, he has had veggies the last couple of days, these are peas, sweetcorn, green beans and carrot, though his favourite seems to be fresh broccoli.

Any ideas are welcome, I'm not sure as to take the wheel out before taming and put it back in once a session is finished so acting as a reward....

You've only had him a couple of weeks, remember every ham is different and that's what makes them so special.
He loves his wheel, and it's perfectly normal for him wanting to run and run. He knows you're the guy that has given him a forever home and this wonderful wheel. Just keep talking to him and do the tissue trick.

After my experience of Quigley's frantic bar chewing when he was too young for the wheel, I wouldn't take it out permanently. As you suggested, removing it before the taming session and replacing it after would probably work.

You've only had him a short time, so I wouldn't worry that things seem to be going slowly. He will get there in the end. My only recommendation would be using a taming box for the taming process, but I am sure you are already doing that.

As for tempting him out of his wheel, you might be able to persuade him to walk into a cup if you put it in front of him (most hams don't seem to be able to resist!) and, of course, there is always bribery with food.

Quigley says Ghost be a good boy and say hello to your new hooman! Don't be shy. I know you want to show off you wheeling skills, but you can also use your hooman as an awesome climbing frame.
