Ghost is a twit I have decided, lately he has taken to sleeping in his skywalk tubes, but now he sleeps on the upslope and 90 degree bend it looks very uncomfortable but he sleeps very soundly like it. He has also taken to using the tubes as his food stash too..
Also shock of shocks he actually came to the cage door and wanted to come out, this is a complete first for him....

What a silly ham Ghost is!!! It just is so funny to me that hams truly appear to enjoy sleeping in the most contorted positions at times. I guess that they do it just because they can without having to see a chiropractor for numerous kinks in their back or neck, lol. Congrats to Ghost for accomplishing such a milestone as coming to the door wanting to come out for some playtime with you. I know that you must be so very thrilled by this. Such bliss for the two of you.

TL I have never known such a nervy hamster as Ghost, yet when I take him out of his cage he seems very happy climbing all over me and exploring his surroundings..
From things I have noticed his hearing seems super sensitive, when he has a nervous jump he can jump the width of his Alaska cage which is quite a feat, he will normally flip or twist as he does this, the other night he had a "moment" in his wheel where he was running as normal and then he jumps/flips out of the wheel and in the process knocked the wheel over...
He has taken to lying in his wheel and also he goes and lies totally flat on the roof of his house with his ears perked up as though he is waiting for something, it is very odd indeed.
On a more normal note, his weight is coming along and he is now 153g, his favourite treats are sweetcorn and custard cream biscuits....

Hi Folks,
Last night Ghost had a major strop as I had to take down his Skywalk as there was Hamster waddle dripping from it and his food stash was soaked and the gritty little so and so was sleeping right next to it. I have cleaned it all out but am not sure wether to put it back up for him.

I'd take it out and leave it out Rads. The fumes and wet food can cause problems with respiratory infections and if the food goes mouldy as well that is not good for their tummies. He's a fickle little man but very gorgeous!
