Ghost may have had great fun but I had a near heart attack as he disappeared down the back of the sofa as I thought here we go again and promptly started making the room safe and began the Ghost hunt... He didn't appreciate being caught and confined back in his cage.

Had that almost heart attack moment too regarding the sofa, MH is so quick at squeezing down.

Well, Ghost had a right funny do last night, he was doing his normal stuff tubes, wheel, tubes, wheel etc.
The thing that spooked me the most was at one point he was nibbling on a treat bar on the roof of his house when Ghost threw himself up and off the roof and across the cage and then ran to his grooming corner, he then spent some time shaking and twitching in various points of his cage.
He went to bed early instead of being up all night and doesn't want to come out even for treats...... Very strange indeed it was almost like a fit....
I wonder how he will be tonight when he has his first roast chicken dinner.....
Let alone next weekend when he gets to go to his first show........

I now prefer to have a blanket over the sofa to block going behind a cushion and then vanishing down the back of the sofa. Once with a childhood hamster of my daughter's called Hazel, she vanished behind the seat cushion and I did not realise she could squeeze into the bottom area of the sofa. No problem thought I and turned the sofa to rest on its back. Only to discover the whole of the underside was covered and the material stapled into place! In the absence of husband, I ended up prizing open as many industrial staples as I could to form an opening and then spent much patient time coaxing out a naughty Hazel with treats who spent the time perched on a wooden support sweetly looking at me. Didn't want to grab and miss forcing her up further inside. So very patient...
Moral of story-no naughty adventurous hamsters down the back of a sofa. Ghost please note!

Thanks, Ghost actually went down the back of the sofa via the blanket that was on the top of said sofa to stop adventurous Hamsters trying to abseil down between the wall and the sofa back, I probably hadn't made my self very clear.
