Seeing him on your hand puts into perspective how tiny he is! Tell him he doesn't need to be camera shy, he is a likely handsome ham.

Ghost has grown substantially in the four weeks we have had him, he really was tiny then P@H said he was 8 weeks old but I wondered if he was younger given his size....
Oh by the way I do have large hands as well which may make Ghost look smaller than he really is..
It's funny in that picture you can actually see his very very pale banding... other than that he looks white in photos..

Rads however old he is, he is perfect

and have I mentioned how much I like his markings? A very light red eyed cream banded isn't he? My first hamster was a (black eyed) cream banded and when he was a baby he looked pretty much solid white but the cream darkened to a more orangey colour when he got older. It will be interesting to see if that happens with Ghost, too.

Oh, I love that picture of Ghostie crawling on your hand, Rads. There is something so endearing about it. It is quite touching and precious.

AP, that is interesting about your first hammy changing coloring that drastically. It will be interesting to know if that is typical in all light cream bandeds. Whether or not Ghost changes his coat color, he is absolutely handsome either way.

So this is Mr Ghost having a sofa outing this evening, once he was bored with climbing over my hands and running up my back...! Taming continues slowly outside of his cage he is pretty good inside the cage ie his space he is as nervy as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs..!!!!!

Aww, Mr. Ghost looks so cute grooming his lovely fur coat. In that video, his banding is more visible - very handsome hamfellow.

Such progress Rads, well worth the wait.
Ghost exploring your hand is so cute, probably realising that your big hands are safe.
I do love sofa videos, he looks relaxed grooming himself.

G'day folks
Ghost's Taming comes on a pace, I was allowed after a short scuffle to pick him up from inside his cage..!
He also didn't try to do "Suicide Hamster" and leap from my hands as he was transferred to the sofa, another plus point.
He is getting into set patterns/habits as well, one thing I have noticed apart from turning into Stinky Mini Beast Ghost is, when he finally gets up his scent glands on his flanks are very wet indeed once out and about he is fluffy again after a short while, but he is so damp it looks like he's just had a shower...!
He isn't going to like it but his cage is going to be cleaned again this weekend as it doesn't half whiff......

Well done for being so well behaved, Ghost! Sounds like he is coming along very well and getting braver.

I laughed at the thought of Ghost being stinky. He must be very keen to mark everything as his own

I’d be careful about cleaning too much though, as he may go about scent marking his cage even more thoroughly if you remove his scent from it - and hence make it even smellier lol.
