Re: Penny's Thread
Lovely photos, she really is so sweet & her ears are just too adorable
Good to hear she likes the cage, as the others have said the ladder does need replacing, if you can rearrange things to fit in with more substrate (basically fill the base) I would do that too.

Re: Penny's Thread
Thank you all
I will get that bridge taken out and pop in another wooden bridge! Ah I didn't know flying saucers weren't recommend anymore!
She does have huge ears! When I put a pic up on Facebook everyone thought she was a mouse!

Re: Penny's Thread
I'm very sad to say I found Penny had died last night, I knew something wasn't right when I went to feed her last night and she wasn't in her wheel. She was always in her wheel at that time, I found her curled up in her bad fast asleep. She was so young, and I am so shocked. She was fine that morning and never showed any signs of anything being wrong, I wish I knew what happened. I'm convincing myself she was drinking more and I should've taken her to the vets, but her weeing and eating etc was fine. I'm so sorry you had such a short life Penny, but I hope it was a good one. You was never without anything, you stood out to me in pets at home when I had never planned to get another hamster but I am glad I chose you. Enjoy rainbow bridge, be with Leonard my first Syrian to introduced me to how lovely and full of character they can be, as you were.

I'm devastated she has died so suddenly and I just want to know why

Re: Penny's Thread
I'm so very sorry to hear that Penny has gone to the bridge so unexpectedly & too young.
Sometimes we just can't know why or what happened, it's very hard I know but try not to think about that too much, it sounds as though she had a lovely life right up until the end & went peacefully in her sleep, try to take some comfort in that.
Run free & play well at the bridge Penny.

Re: Penny's Thread
I'm so sorry to hear that your gorgeous Penny had passed to the Rainbow Bridge so unexpectedly. Even though she had a short life, I'm sure it was filled with all the love and care that any ham could ever dream of having. You gave her a wonderful life; please take comfort in that. Sadly, sometimes there are no answers. Hugs to you.
RIP, little Penny! Please give your mum a sign that you are having fun with other hams who have passed. You will be missed.
