Re: Quigley
A tall and large ceramic dog bowl could work well,or a Beco bowl if there's a suitable size of those!Of course,if you want the most durable option ceramic would be best as Beco bowls are chewable(although all natural and much safer than plastic would be).

Re: Quigley
I'd avoid the plastic one.The stainless steel one could be an option, but while I haven't had a complete look at the dog bowls from P@H there have been some definite options around the same height for ceramic dog bowls that were slightly less expensive
If it helps any, ceramic and stoneware type items tend to be very easy to wash out while stainless steel is nowhere near as easy.

Re: Quigley
Looking at the way he was using the dish you have I think he might prefer something round, stainless steel dog bowls can be good, might be better looking on Amazon rather than P@H though.

Re: Quigley
Thanks Amity and Cypher dog bowls sound like a good idea - how deep do you reckon he will need? The dish he has currently is 6.5cm deep.

Re: Quigley
Syrians really only need 2 or so inches of sand (5.5ish cm) so a 6.5 cm dish, or deeper if you have a ramp, would probably work just fine

Re: Quigley
Drago thank you so, I don’t need to get a new dish after all? The one he is rolling in in the video is 6.5cm deep. I can always add more sand, but I worried about it going everywhere lol.

Re: Quigley
Do you mean the one in the video? If so, I think it's perfectly fine. I've always used containers that are a bit smaller for sand with my hamsters and I've never had an issue. Size and such isn't as important with Syrians (who don't really need sand) as it is with dwarf hamsters. You can add more sand if you want, but that's totally up to you. You can also decide to get a new dish, but again, that's up to you

Re: Quigley
I still think he looked as though he would enjoy it deeper, you will find it goes everywhere if you fill that bowl to the top, they do like to make a mess with the sand lol! you could try standing the bowl on something that will catch the sand so you can just tip it back in when he's done.
