Re: All About Anya!
I really enjoyed reading about Anya. She looks lovely and sounds like a friendly sweet little girl. It sounds as though you are doing everything right and I can't really add to the great advice you have already received. Can't wait to hear more about her!

This sounds like me! I went from getting a pair to thinking about agetting 3rd after a year (which turned in to only 3 months) and now I have 5 in the space of 10 months so be careful lol
Anya is adorable, well done for rescuing her and giving her a loving forever home. Will look forward to hearing more about her

Re: All About Anya!
Today I got Anya a 40-gallon breeder tank, as it was on sale at my local pet shop. It was quite the, um, adventure getting it into the house and to the hamster room myself, but it is there and she is all moved in. I don't think she's ever had so much space in her life. She seemed so happy running all over and exploring, and she has much deeper substrate now. I also weighed her, but I can't remember exactly what her weight was. I think it was 93 grams, but I don't know if that can be right. She was the runt of her litter, and she does seem very small, but I stupidly just forgot to write down the weight, I was so excited to transfer her to her new cage.
She is very friendly and seems to like being petted and held, but I want to let her settle in before I really try to tame her and get her used to me.
Here she is enjoying the new cage. I just love her little face.

ETA: Oh drat. These photos weren't sideways on my computer. Sorry about that. But I love the action shot on the Silent Runner!

What a little sweetheart, I'm sure she's going to love the 40 gallon. I too love the running shot

Re: All About Anya!
Isn't she lovely? And enjoying that silent Runner, by the looks of it! 93g for 2-3 months old is good, I think. Very good for 2 months, on the small side for 3 but still perfectly fine. She looks very healthy in her photos, so I don't think you need worry.

Anya is an early riser, which I love, because it's still light enough for good photos! Everyone got spinach today, and she definitely loves it. She also had fun investigating her dinner bowl and chowing down on a pumpkin seed. She's so much smaller than Beatrix! I'm eager to see how much she grows in the coming months, or if she's always a little smaller. Anya is definitely the tamest, and doesn't mind a little petting, especially not if it involves food!
