Re: Newt's thread
I think the one near the bendy bridge might be for a hoard. He was snuffling about near it last night with full pouches. Last night I woke him early about 6pm so stepson could spend some time with him. He was a bit dopey and seemed to want to go back to bed, but he did crawl all over stepson and took a monkey nut from him. He's an expert at cracking monkey nuts now and spitting the shell out lol. He still woke up at 10pm as usual wanting to come out again. Rainbow bridge is knocked over again this morning

Re: Newt's thread
That's a coincidence, Mushu has also suddenly got the hang of monkey nuts! He has managed to open two now only a day or so apart, having previously not even really tried to open them. Newt having his hoard in a burrow reminds me of a pirate with buried treasure

Re: Newt's thread
A lot of energy is being used tunnelling away there. It is all very impressive. Well done Newtie!

Re: Newt's thread
I found another one today. A very neat deep hole towards the front left. I suspect they are buried hoards. He looks a bit bigger tonight but I'll wait till Thursday to weigh him again so it's weekly. He nearly escaped tonight! After his time in the playpen, he hopped into the ball and I lift the ball to the cage and he walk in through the front Barney door. Except tonight he didn't want to come out of the ball. So I lifted the ball down through the top Barney door and waited for him to walk out into the cage - which he did eventually. And then ran straight out of the front Barney door which I'd left open! He had a soft landing and I scooped him up quickly and popped him back in before he did a runner!

Re: Newt's thread
Yes - I didn't know I could move so fast myself ha ha. Cheeky monkey. I virtually caught him in mid air as he landed. He has also chewed two holes in the carpet inside the playpen. I caught him at it. It's not a great carpet and unravels easily!

Re: Newt's thread
WOW!! He is a digger! I would love to see Blacky do that! But looking at the size of the holes maybe he does and I didn't notice, They are so tiny!!!
I'm glad Newttie is doing fine and getting along very well with step son and enjoying his monkey nuts!
I'm sorry about the carpet! I found that my duvet also has a tiny little hole, but let's keep that between us, or I'll be a dead daughter.

Re: Newt's thread
Ha ha. My OH hasn't seen the carpet yet. I'm wondering how long I can keep that a secret. I could always move the furniture round It would be sensible to cover the carpet with something inside the playpen I suppose.
