Re: Newt's thread
I would so love to be able to see those videos, could you do a link please serendipity? I did smile at Newt giving you the cold shoulder, they are so good at making us feel guilty. I'm not surprised he didn't like getting his teeth checked, a bit like me when I go to the dentist lol!

Re: Newt's thread
Thank you TL! The videos are on the previous page of this thread and I think when watching a video you click on the video username to find the others in the channel. I haven't put much new on it for some time, apart from little videos to show on here, so you may have seen the older ones before anyway! At some point previously.

Re: Newt's thread
Sorry Serendipity, but it's just 3 blank spaces, nothing to click on.

Re: Newt's thread
Newt has seemed a bit bored recently and I've been meaning to add more enrichment to his cage. Since I lowered everything there are not so many hidey places/places to go. Tonight I got round to putting in a fuzzbutts double layer hammock - the same as Nugget's - I am sure he won't chew it, now he's older and not a real chewer, but will keep an eye on it. Hung it low over his house roof so it's very easy to get in and out of, like Nugget's.
I could see he liked it because he sat in it for some time and looked out of one side with an approving look. I'm also going to put some new legs back on his house and raise it a bit as he really hasn't seemed so contented in it with nothing to dig in, plus he is running out of places to hoard! Not too much bedding underneath, but enough he can dig down a little bit to have something to do! As long as everything's at the same level-ish he should be fine.
And have just bought this. Not sure how it will work, but it's a ground level hanging hide and seems it swings a bit, which he might like - and will be cool in summer.
It's going to take about 3 to 4 weeks to arrive though apparently!

Re: Newt's thread
That new hanging hide for Newt looks really good. Hope it arrives earlier than they say. Usually means it is out of stock??

Re: Newt's thread
I don't know - it's in stock - checked seller location and it sounds like Japan or China! So I guess that is why it takes longer. I'll need to check it for safety as well - the curvy bit of the stand might be under the bedding eg - but I'm sure there'll be a way round making it safe.
Still contemplating the house/bedding under thing - since he's had less digging to do, he's been more keen on out of cage time, so wouldn't want him to become too reclusive again as the out of cage exercise is good for him.

Re: Newt's thread
I really like this hanging ceramic hide. Never seen one of them before. I think its safe and with the base under the substrate it shouldn't fall over. You could always weigh it down with some smooth pebbles.
