Re: Newt's thread
Newt says thank you Actually I'm not sure he liked the taste of the cake haha. Maybe it wasn't sweet enough as no sugar. It was banana and walnut the sponge bit but more like bread that vaguely tasted of banana. Although normally he likes bread! The topping was mashed banana with a bit of plain yoghurt mixed in, in an attempt to stop it going brown - which kind of worked as it delayed it going brown for a few hours.
The filling was blueberry and apple baby food. Anyway he didn't want to come out again last night, understandably, so put a bit of the sponge in with his food and it's all gone

Re: Newt's thread
Put a bit of Newt's cake in Nugget's cage last night as well which caused great excitement, nibbling and tossing it around - it's gone now. I binned the rest of the cake as it had been out all day and gone a bit brown on top.

Re: Newt's thread
Newt was out tonight while we were having our dinner on lap trays. He climbed up me and onto my tray and was after my dinner. So lifted him down and gave him a bit of potato. But he came back for more! So gave him a bit of carrot. He still wanted more! I think I'll have to set up his own little lap tray next time and he can eat dinner with us!
It was rather nice having him sitting next to me on the sofa eating at the same time lol.

Re: Newt's thread
Newt had a good run round the living room last night and then sat on the sofa and slurped some spaghetti.
He and Nugget both have a hard chew treat tonight - Wellybix. They are made locally - home made dog biscuits. Although they are dog biscuits there is nothing in them other than simple home-baking and edible for humans too. They're just hard beef flavoured biscuits. Incredibly hard - too hard for my teeth - so should be good for hammy teeth to gnaw on. Charlie had one once before as well.

Re: Newt's thread
That sounds like fun, Serendipity...the run around the living room and the dog biscuit. Nice when you can find appropriate edible treats for them.

Re: Newt's thread
Love the mental pic of Newt having a piece of spaghetti in his mouth and sucking it up in one long slurp! Wellybix sound a good treat. Hard and nutritious. Do they like them?

Re: Newt's thread
Wow, Newt looks like my hamster! However, my hamster does have some white splotches on her.
