Re: Newt's thread
I took Newt's hemp mat off the top of his flat roofed house when the weather got hot a while back. He clearly didnt like the wood roof without the mat as has piled Fitch on top of it so the house has almost disappeared! Looks like a bomb's gone off in his cage. Hardly any substrate at one end and a big messy pile at the other end with a few things sticking out at strange angles - and a hamster made tunnel down to his house entrance.
Here are a couple of photos of him from the other night.

Re: Newt's thread
Awwwwww! What a beauty!
Gorgeous pics Serendipity, that 2nd pic is my fave, Newt's little cute face peeking out of the snooze cube and looking ever so innocent. Goose bumps!

Re: Newt's thread
Newt says thank you. He was a bit worried last night as I was rummaging about in his room while sorting Nugget's cage out a bit and pushed his way behind the hemp mat on the bars to see what I was doing!

Re: Newt's thread
He definitely seemed concerned TL - that I was rummaging about in the corner of the room next to his cage! I have the bedding and a bag of hamster items in that corner.

Re: Newt's thread
He'll be familiar with certain sounds you make and what they mean.

Re: Newt's thread
Newt is a lovely looking boy even though he has reached middle age! I agree that he looks so cute peeping out of his cube there. He clearly doesn't want you messing with his mess Serendipity!

Re: Newt's thread
His cage is next I won't do much apart from add some substrate - he's dug so much out to pile on his house that his cork log ramp up to the shelf has sunk a lot leaving a big leap from it onto the shelf! He seemed to get up there ok last night though.
