Re: Newt's thread
Newt weighs 223g!!!! He had a good long time out in the lounge where it was nice and cosy last night. So I thought I might as well get the scales out. I was so surprised at the 223g that I double checked and it then said 224g!! And checked again - he is 223g - almost the same weight as Charlie. Although strangely he doesn't look as big as Charlie. Maybe he has been eating all his winter reserves recently. Anyway he spent a long time trying to dig a hole in the back of the sofa, and then had a little roam on the floor with supervision, then back to trying to chew through the sofa back.

Re: Newt's thread
Thanks Boris Pasha, CMB and Drago. Yes he certainly is all grown up and much more lazy. I couldn't have let him out on the living room floor before - he was too fast. But he is slower and saunters a bit and explores slower now. Although he does have this obsession with trying to dig a hole in the sofa (probably to get to the most inaccessible place!) We have a throw over it - behind the throw he could get down inside the sofa back and springs. So it is well blocked off!

Re: Newt's thread
I found my hamsters would obsess over certain things, quite a strange behavior. Duncan used to chew and burrow in this one corner. His other favorite thing was jamming himself into my drawer!

Re: Newt's thread
What a cracking good weight Newt is now. You must have a special touch in raising chunky hammies!

Re: Newt's thread
Wow! Newt is an very impressive weight!
Glad to hear that he also enjoys exploring the living room floor. Pumpkin to have a obsession with digging on the sofa too and often likes to try to dig beneath where I'm sitting!

Re: Newt's thread
Newt is as lovely as ever - I adore him. He spent quite a bit of time out on the sofa last night, ran up inside my sleeve, up on to my shoulder and inside my cardigan. No more floor time as he has got speedy again.
