Serendipity, I have already watched the embedded videos, so I don't need the direct links, but I thought I should let you know that direct links aren't working for me (that may just be me though) They just take me to my own videos on YouTube. Are you copying the links from your 'creator studio'? If you are, that might be why this is happening. I usually view the video as someone else would and copy the link from there - if that makes sense.

Let me test something

Newt climbing: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Mku0-JQyFsQ

Newt broccoli: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MDgTnUUUFRk

Edit: Yup, the links I just posted are working for me. Hope you don't mind me having posted them.

I just copy them from the web page bar at the top of the page How weird that Youtube is doing funny things! I shall post both in future.

Yeah, that's what I do too. But, I do it by searching up the video on YouTube and copying the link at the top of the page then. I don't go to my videos on my account ('creator studio'), click on the video and copy the link at the top of the page then because that is basically the video in edit mode and thus not available for public viewing. Ugh that's a really bad explanation isn't it? Basically, I think that because you may be viewing the videos in edit mode and copying the URL then, the links aren't working. That is backed up by the fact that your links both have the words "edit" in them and take me to my own videos. Again though, it may just be me. If so, ignore me!

Newtie had a bit of breakfast this morning and a bit of time in the playpen while I lowered his substrate a bit. He can have more when he's a bit more grown up if he wants it The noise last night was him moving underneath the left hand shelf, the entrance to which was blocked off by the substrate. I think he finds the hole in the top of the house lets too much light in. I hope he isn't too upset that I had to move the bendy bridge as his hill has gone.

While in the playpen he decided to use my arm to get out, as he did with his brothers and sisters - except he went up the inside of the sleeve of my dressing gown LOL. I had to get in the playpen so he didn't escape - while he crawled all up and down my back inside the dressing gown.

I don't think he's actually built a nest yet, just been sleeping in the substrate and digging, but maybe he will now.

Newtie came out to look for his food when I put it out around 6pm. He is living under the left shelf, which is now more accessible since I took away his hill of substrate going up against it. I've put the other cork log there instead and put his bendy bridge back where it is. He doesn't seem phased by this and has sniffed and inspected them and then just carried about his business. I've put the nesting paper inside the house and covered the hole on the top to try and tempt him to nest in the house - but I have a feeling he is going to nest under the shelf now. Which is ok, I can just see under it!

Our hamsters all prefer open nests we find. Most choose an open nest rather than the offered houses we give them. He was born in an open nest as that is what Halloumi preferred Only Rupert seems to prefer his igloo at the moment.

Ah that explains it - I didn't realise they had open nests. Sounds easier to clean too! He did seem to like walking through the house, but not nesting in it! It's nice that they feel confident enough to have an open nest.

No doubt about it then, little Newtie is quite a character with a mind of his own!
