I really feel for you guys in England with the heat. Good to hear you had a couple of thunderstorms, they seem to help after severe heat.
Also pleased Newt's back to his perky self.com
In Scotland, we never get it as hot as England but, I've kept the kitchen/living room cool for Master Harvey.

Thank you All! We're not so far from Scotland either Glad Master Harvey is keeping cool and I'm sure he appreciates it. You take good care of him. That link is really interesting TL! I haven't heard of it before.

Newtie has gained a little bit more weight. I thought he was looking a bit bigger. Tonight is weight night and he is 175g.

That's a lovely plump weight, Newt carries his weight well, he's grown so much recently. He really is perfect!

How old is Newt again? Was it 13 weeks? I forget! Seems as though Quigley and he are likely to end up the same size, as they were both 105g at 6 weeks old. So, I will be watching carefully for Newt’s fully grown 6 month old weight!

Will be weighing Quigley on Sunday when he is 7 weeks old. How much did Newt weigh at 7 weeks? Will be interesting to see if they are the same again.

Thank you TL and April Newt was 113g at 7 weeks. They are probably a bit like children though and grow at different rates, so one might weigh less or more at the same age and then speed up or slow down in weight gain You would expect some steady growth though. I seem to remember it was a big jump in weight at 8 weeks.

Thanks Serendipity. I'm actually excited to see how much Quigley is on Sunday. Between last Wednesday and last Sunday, he went from 99g to 105g. A rate of 6g in 4 days would translate into a gain of 10.5g in 7 days. So, if he is gaining at the same rate this week I'd expect him to be about 115g on Sunday. I appreciate that it doesn't work like that, though!

Here you go April Pearl

Weight - Newtus Hamsterus. The progress chart Big jumps at 8,9, and 10 weeks then a little bit each week. But I they probably vary when they have their growth spurts.

6 weeks 106g
7 weeks 113g
8 weeks 132g
9 weeks 148g
10 weeks 155g
11 weeks 163g to 165g (he might have had food in his pouch so I knocked 2g off)
12 weeks 167g
13 weeks 175g

Ooh thank you so much Serendipity! That's awesome really will be interesting to track their growth next to each other! I've copied Newt's chart so I can do a week by week comparison. Funny, the things that I find interesting!

I did find it quite exciting (and also slight trepidation each week in case he wasn't growing enough) - but eventually they will get to their full adult weight and stay there. And considering that can be anything between 125g and 260g there is bound to be variation! I'm sure I heard of a 300g Syrian once!

At the moment Newtie is as per Souffle's prediction - of at least 175g based on the size of his parents
