Re: Newt's thread
That's a savic rat tube. Zooplus and Amazon sell it. It used to be tied to the roof of the Barney cage when Charlie was in the Barney. I guess it might not be available in the US

Thank you! I don't know why, but I love how it looks. I want one for my future Chinese hamster

Re: Newt's thread
He's a very athletic little boy anyway, very speedy and agile the way he jumps in and out his wheel Looks like he's getting used to his big orange wheel too. I'm glad he keeps his head in when he's running on it, Artie is terrible at sticking his head out when the wheel is still moving to see what I'm up to lol.
Lovely video though Serendipity, it looks like he's really having a lot of fun exploring his playpen and plenty of sniffing going on too

Re: Newt's thread
Aww Serendipity, so lovely hearing you laugh again, that first video had me giggling, what a cute bun wiggler Newt is. He's so settled and loving his forever home. So sweet watching him eat his broccoli.
I'm so happy this wonderful ham is in your life.

Re: Newt's thread
Lol. Thanks Lizzy. It was nice hearing stepson laugh at hammy antics again too
Last night I put the scales on top of a book in the playpen while Newtie was out and about and he very obligingly went and sat on them. He is now 124g according to my scales. The must grow a lot at this stage when by 11 or 12 weeks he will be a teenager! He was 7 weeks old on Friday. He looks slightly longer and more rounded but it's very gradual.
He also had some scrambled egg while in the playpen last night and a couple of pumpkin seeds. He goes crazy for any fresh food and will halt his playing for it, but isn't that bothered about stopping running around for dried food like a hammy biscuit or pumpkin seed - unless there's nothing else! He does take his Harry Hamster every day though. I put a couple of extras out each night as well - last night it was half a plain cashew nut, a small piece of cheese and his veg - some broccoli.

Re: Newt's thread
Wow, Newt is such a big boy! Mushu is only 9 grams heavier and he is 13-15 weeks old! Sounds as though he is putting on lots of extra cuteness

Re: Newt's thread
I really enjoyed watching that video of Newt having fun in his playpen - it so lovely to see how happy he is and looked like he was thoroughly enjoying running in his silent runner wheel.
