Re: Coloration?
I am by no means a colour expert so I am afraid that I cannot answer this, but Duncan does have a very lovely colour. To me he looks as though he has some very light cream on him mixed with the grey and white?

That's a perfect description of his color, couldn't have put it better! I've always just said he's "opossum" colored lol, clearly not proper. It'll be good to get a definitive answer

Love it. You don't think he could be an extreme dilute tortoishell, do you? I don't know much about the ED gene and I know it is very rare to get a male tortoishell so probably not.
Edit: Nah, forget it. I think tortoishell shave blocks of colour. You can see I shouldn't be even trying to guess lol.

Re: Coloration?
He's a heterozygous silver grey banded short hair!
As reference, the only breeder in Europe who I believe still has ED is Hamsterhuette. So there aren't too many EDs across the pond at all. Very sad, since it's very lovely.
Het-SG and ED Golden often get confused, haha.
ETA:
Here is an ED Golden for reference:
Differences: Ear Colour, Nose Smudge, ED is yellowier.
Het-ED Golden (like my Lindt) is a lot lighter.

You can shorten the colour name to Het-SG Banded SH. Not so bad.

Re: Coloration?
Thank you so much for clarifying! Glad I can finally tell people that rather than "opossum" colored

I still think "opossum" should be the official name. So much more catchy
