Re: Duncan's thread
Just been catching up with Duncan's thread - He is very handsome and is such a lovely colour. Duncan has such wonderful expressions in all of the photos! The photo of Duncan grooming is so sweet!
That exciting that Duncan's getting a DIY cage built - I'm so looking forward to seeing the cage once it built. I'm sure Duncan will love it too!

Re: Duncan's thread
Cypher
Thank you I think Duncan will enjoy the finished cage too (although him being as picky as he is you never know...)
I'm using the olive oil to stimulate fur growth (as olive oil can be used on occasion to help new fur formation, interesting article I read on it actually! Good for us too apparently) I will be pulling him off that tomorrow or so as it looks as though some fur is forming again. The flax is obviously just to keep his coat in good condition and help with the fur growth itself. I've heard of primrose oil, I'm going to order some off of amazon tonight, any brand in particular you use?(hopefully it'll be available in the US). His fur has been a bit patchy in an area or two, but he's always had these issues since he's come home with me. I'm thinking of a vet appointment to see if there's some underlying issue with it.
You might be right about the news, but it may come as a complete surprise as well

Duncan thanks you for the compliments, he says he was getting himself ready for a night in the town! (AKA my bedroom floor)
Ah how I wish a little Hallupert could come home with me! Jopop and Serendipity sure are lucky Not too many breeders around here, but luckily there is one who breeds Syrians, Zika hamstery (which I'm looking into welcoming another into my hamily come summer time) as well as another who breeds Campbells. Definitely excited to share the news!
BorisPasha, Love the new signature by the way
Dreamtree
Thank you, he really does make me laugh! I've now taken to calling him "Rat boy" due to his mischevious nature. I'm actually surprised how many others on here have experienced the bottle chorus, wonder if there's a way to figure out whether it's coincidence or not! Duncan gives a high four back to Eros, he says he's got lots more "evil" plans to put his slave through...

Re: Duncan's thread
I doubt you'd get the brand of EPO I use Drago, it's Dowest veterinary, the big advantage is that if comes in a dropper bottle most comes in capsules so it gets messy & wastes a lot if you have to do it that way, I wouldn't worry about brand too much though.
Nutritional yeast can help too but not all hams like it much.

Re: Duncan's thread
Thank you, as it turns out, my neighbor had some evening primrose oil (they're super holistic) and happily lent me a bit I'll let you know how it goes!
Duncan got another one of his Easter whimzees tonight! (And clearly a bit of millet)
He was awake and antsy so I let him out for 10 minutes or so, he decided to run on his playtime wheel
The weather here has been quite atrocious! It's been over 90° Fahrenheit (about 32° Celsius or so), and seems to get hotter each passing day. We've gotten a ton of rain and storms in the past week, I've yet to see the sun Now it's muggy and humid everywhere which means the mosquitos will begin breeding which means some nasty bites! Not looking forward to how many there will be after all the rain stops
Being stuck inside means more attention goes to the lovely Duncmeister and all my menagerie!
I had a cute video to upload of Duncan crawling through my clothes drawer, but photobucket is a pain! I'll upload it when I get the chance. Hope everyone's had a lovely day

Re: Duncan's thread
His face in the first pic looks like he is saying " leave me alone with my meal now, slave". Ive never noticed his fut loss before. It looks like he has rolled his sleeves up. Still a cutie =o)

Re: Duncan's thread
He's a sweetheart. I've heard a lot about whimzees but never tried my hamsters on them. They seem very expensive to buy online in the UK, particularly if they turned out not to be enjoyed. I might cave and buy some eventually though.
You're having trouble with photobucket too? That makes two of us, then!

Re: Duncan's thread
Lovely pics of Duncan Dargo. I'm glad Hekomi was able to tell you what colour he is, it's an impressive name for such a small ham
He looks like he's nearly falling asleep in the 3rd pic and he does look so cute and tiny in his wheel. What size wheel is it?

They are really good AP, you can buy individual ones in P@H if you wanted to try first before buying a bag.
