Re: Duncan's thread
Duncan is quite a gorgeous dude so pleased you gave him his own thread.
Pip says hi from across the pond and waves a paw to him.
We are looking forward to hearing of his exploits Drago.

Re: Duncan's thread
I made some homemade hamster biscuits for Duncan and my Gerbils today! Unfortunately, they weren't a hit Hamsters can be so judgemental lol
Though this is the Duncan thread, I'm currently petsitting some lovely hamsters for the next week or so. I'm known around here as the "rodent addict" so people tend to give me a call when they're on vacations, and this time of year is a notorious vacation time in my town! I figured I'd share some pictures of the lovely hamsters I'm lucky enough to spend time with
First up, is lovely little moonpie
She's so tiny! Although my hands are fairly big, still she's not smaller than Bolt who I will introduce next.
Next up is little (quite literally) Bolt!
Bolt is the tiniest Syrian I've ever seen in my life, but he's so adorable. The photo doesn't do it justice! Hamsterita, this one made me think of you, Bolt reminds me of Blacky
Now for Snickers, she's such a sweet ham
Last up is Riptide or "Fatniss evereats" as affectionately named by her owner
She's appropriately named!
I don't know how some people have tons of hamsters, I'm only caring for 5 currently (including Duncan) and I already feel tired! I can't imagine having 5+ hamsters permanently, though perhaps it's just me. I'm hoping to upload some more pictures of Duncan tomorrow, I've got some good ones I'd like to share

Re: Duncan's thread
Wow, looking after another 4 hamsters as well as Duncan must be a challenge. One monster is enough for me haha. Fatniss Evereats really made me laugh! I love hearing peoples nicknames for their pets. Have fun with your small furry army

Re: Duncan's thread
What a shame about the biscuits They can be very particular!
That's a lovely bunch of hams you're ham sitting for Drago, all so different but all adorable in their individual ways.
Love Snickers colouring.
I wonder how people manage with lots of hams too, I feel I have my hands completely full with just four!

Re: Duncan's thread
AWWWW you must be in hamster heaven. Bolt is adorable, It's nice of you to think abut Blacky when you see him, I also think a lot about him when I see photos of black hamsters, but I suppose that it's normal. Moonpie also reminded me of one of my first hamsters, because she was a black banded syrian.
I couldn't laugh more when I read about Fatniss Evertreats, that's an amazing name.
You must be in hamster heaven surrounded by all those fluffy butts

Re: Duncan's thread
I certainly am loving all the cuddles I'm getting from these little guys!
I was trying to photograph Duncan tonight and he tolerated it for the duration of him eating his treat, but not a second longer. As soon as it was finished, he went straight back to his nest.
Here he's enjoying some freeze dried turkey
"No more pictures please human!"
I'm currently beginning the process of creating Duncan's square metre cage! Well actually it's over a square metre. I'm planning to build a plexiglass base so it can hold 1.5-2 ft of bedding. Though Duncan isn't a huge burrower, maybe more bedding will change his mind? I'll make sure to share pictures throughout the building process once I begin
