Thanks for all of the well wishes for us, Cypher, Thin Lizzy, and Coco. We are all still doing well at the moment. Thankfully, the hurricane has now reduced to a tropical storm and possible tornadoes in our area. We are having torrential rains so flooding is still extremely likely here. The wind is howling and is quite eerie. It is still extremely dark outside even though it is currently 9 A.M. The power has been flickering off and on steadily, and there is still a high possibility that we will have a power outage for quite some time. We are most likely going to have a curfew set as all the counties surrounding us have already had one in place hours ago. We have 10 gallons of drinking water, nonperishable food to last for approximately a week, several pots filled with tap water in case the water is unsafe later, several batteries, flashlights, and a medical kit ready in case needed. It is all in the bathroom just in case we are all stuck staying in the tub for hours due to safety reasons. I decided to take this opportunity to let you know what's going on just in case I am unable to do so later. I will let you know updates whenever I get the chance.

Thank you, BP! Eros had a wonderful celebration. I think she was extremely pleased to get the cake and candle, too.

Everyone, thank you so much for all of your well wishes to us. We are all doing well. We were under a tropical storm and flood watch yesterday. Thankfully, we weren't hit as badly as was expected. There are tons of trees down and lots of water buildup throughout the city. We were under a curfew until this morning. We actually had no power for almost the whole day and night so I had to manually aerate the fish tank for several hours straight. All the fish in my Atlantis tank were fine although two naughty ones tried doing aerial tricks out of the water - silly fish! Luckily, I caught them in the act and placed them safely back into the tank. I am so thankful that we are all doing fine and am praying for and trying to aid those who suffered during this storm. Although it is not ideal, family who had to evacuate will be trying their best to head back either today or tomorrow if conditions improve. I just got my internet service working a few minutes ago so I wanted to let you know this latest update.

These are a few pics of Snickers after a soothing cuddling session. She finds them quite relaxing; actually we both do, lol. When it was the other pets' turn for extra TLC, she always lets me know she appreciates all the attention and wants more with lots of whistles and popcorning. She even managed to tousle her usually neatly placed fur, lol.

Aww, Snickers! You sure look cute with your melting, chocolate-brown eyes.


Unlike Snickers, Eros wasn't fazed by the storm. It was playtime as usual. She sure loves jumping in and out of her new Jimmy Dean sausage patty box which was of course overly stuffed with paper towels, lol. What fun! Sorry the pics aren't too focused, I thought it was better to have blurry ones than no pics at all.



Here are a few members of my Atlantis aquarium. I decided to show pics of them since I sometimes refer to them periodically in Eros's thread. I thought it was about time I introduce these scaly, finned friends that I so adore. Please excuse the unclear pics, the fish had sand floating everywhere in the tank because of the storm. They like to burrow in there, dart in and out of it, and then make a speedy dart to the top of the water for fun.

This is coy Lucky. He is my very first cory catfish.

Next is funny Shamrock; sometimes she has been known to change her coloring from golden green to iridescent green with varying colors. Loki is not pictured here but is slightly paler in coloring and is a younger, smaller fish.

Here is Merlin; Maleficent is not pictured but looks similar with much paler, dark spots.

Lastly, these are the usual culprits for tank mischief. They are the ones that did the aerial stunt performance during the storm, of course. They are a mating pair. On the left is the female Sikukiiyaleo and on the right is her sweetheart Tunafuraha. Sweet Lyastra is their baby who was born in my tank on my birthday a few years ago; she usually hangs out with Loki and both are not pictured here since they were playing hide-n-seek in the moss ball plants, lol.

Wonderful photos of Eros - she looks like she happy a lot of fun celebrating her 7 month gotcha day. Her cake looks lovely - Pumpkin also thought that mealworms make the most perfect candle for a cake!

SKB, I appreciate your sweet post. I have to say that Pumpkin and Eros certainly enjoy the same taste in many things, including their great love for meal worm candles topping their cake, lol. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the pics of all my animal family. They all add so much joy to my life and keep me on my toes, too.

Unfortunately, it was reported that the city where my family who had to evacuate lives had the worst flooding in a century, lots of power lines down, several businesses and homes destroyed, and debris everywhere due to Hurricane Irma. At this time, their city is also expecting potentially more coastal flooding through Thursday. My other family who didn't have to evacuate are expecting potential river flooding. Hopefully, things will improve quickly enough, and there will be no additional flooding involved. My family who evacuated live on the 3rd story of a luxury resort at the beach, and one of their neighbors who decided to remain in the city and opted to go to the school's evacuation shelter informed them that the resort wasn't in too bad of a condition - a true miracle considering all the devastation surrounding them. The governor has lifted their mandatory curfew as well and has instructed the community on how best to rebuild their city. I know they want to just get back home and get life back to normal as much as possible, but I am quite concerned. I do feel truly lucky and blessed that we all survived the terrible storm's path, and I am totally heartbroken for all those who were less fortunate. I am helping all those in need as much as possible and keeping my thoughts and prayers with all those who have lost so much. May we always find new ways to help make a difference in someone's life and give them a sense of hope, love, and compassion. I am sending you all huge hugs and am letting you know that I am so extremely grateful for the friendships that I have created here on HC. Your care and concern for me, my pets, and all of my family have truly touched my heart and mean the world to me. Take care and may sunshine forever fill your days. xxx

HeeheeHEEEE! With all that is going on lately, Mum has been extremely busy. However, she always manages to devote some outside of our cages playtime with Snickers and me (separately, of course). I chose a good match of hide-n-seek. I'll hide and you try your very best to spot me, o.k.? Mum always giggles at me because she thinks I act just like a little child and can't help popping in and out of my hiding place before I'm even spotted. So here we go; don't forget to count to ten and close your eyes really tight, alright Mum?

I can see you have found your newest treat, too. They are called peanuts, but many of the HC hamgang refer to them as monkey nuts. I am anxious to know what you think of them since it is your very first time trying them.

Blah! What is this crunchy, dry pellet, Mum?!? Even my poos are tastier and feel better going down than these yucky guys. How can this be a hammy delicacy? Maybe if I bring them to my wishing rocks they will grant me a special wish to make these P-E-A-N-U-T-S do their very own Houdini act right before my very eyes. Oh, well. . . no luck there, unfortunately; it never hurts to wish though, does it? I suppose facing them head on and squinting one of my eyes extra tightly will make it go down easier. I sure don't enjoy tasting this new stuff that you give me; why can't I just stick to the regular stuff, Mum?

No luck there, too! I know; I will just wiggle my cute bum a bit and change the angle some. . . .

Wow, they sure are stubborn aren't they! I still don't like them, Mum, but I will give them one last try to please you!!!!

Nyum, NyUM, NYUMMY-yum-YUMMMMM!!!! Mmmnn. . . . Nibble, nibble, licky lick!!! Hmmm. . . . I think I like - no love, LoVE, L-O-V-E with a capital "L" these P-E-A-N-U-T-thingies!!!! I can't believe that I haven't tried them sooner, Mum! The hamgang sure has a good thing going when its members chose to make P-E-A-N-U-T-S a hammy delicacy!!!!

Are you ready for another fun game of hide-n-seek before playtime is over? I'm sure you can't spot me this time, Mum; I sure have this camouflage thing down pat. Sorry, no hints here! Whahahahaaaaaa!!!!

I'm sure glad that I remembered to pouch these P-E-A-N-U-T-S so I could savor these scrumptious ones for later. For the time being, I will just have to trust that they will be safe in my food bowl. Oh, why not? Who am I fooling; I might as well pack this whole entire lot in my pouches before I take a nice and long snooze. I might need some refreshments and energy boosts because dreams can be exhausting, lol.


I know. . . . I know. . . . I'm so predictable at times. I can't help that I don't like trying new things, but I somehow always discover that Mum knows what she is doing by giving me different things to try so I never have to be without anything extra yummy, lol. I guess she will keep on introducing me to knew things, and I will keep on protesting that they are yucky just to realize they are yummy instead. It's a game that we play, but I know that she feels my silliness just adds to my charm and hilarious nature. I sure am glad that she has a sense of humor and is just as stubborn as I am. Boy, do I have her wrapped around my tiny paw, or maybe I'm wrapped around her larger one - either way, we are a match made in heaven.

Eros looks like she's stocking up for the emergency, I wonder how long those pouchfuls will last. I love her box houses. I'm glad the hurricane is calming down at last and you're all still safe. Love to you all and I hope the water goes away soon.
My cousin has been working hard from his ship in the Caribbean to get emergency supplies to folk there and it's a nonstop effort. Apparently some British people have been complaining that Britain hasn't looked out for the West Indies enough but I'd like to see those moaners in a ship or a plane in a hurricane!
