Eros - A 007 Hammy Secret Agent!

SKB, Scarlett Empress, and Thin Lizzy, thank you for all your sweetness to Eros, Arwen, and Hinata. You are all too kind, and I'm sure that all three of my fluffy cuties will be blushing under all of that fur, lol. SKB, I'm truly sorry about Pumpkin; she was absolutely amazing in every single way, and she will be missed by all of us so very much. HC doesn't seem the same without her, but I'm so glad that you now have the marvelous, gorgeous, and lovable Maple to fill your heart with love and joy. Eros and I have already fallen head over heals with her and am so glad that the two of you found one another. Thin Lizzy, I will be sure to start a new thread for Arwen and Hinata soon; I'm really touched that you and others want to follow their progress. I've been busy catching up on things that I wasn't able to do while I was away, taming these two cuties, and playing with all three of my fluffies. I have plenty of photos of Arwen and Hinata that I am in the process of downloading onto my computer, and I'm just trying to decide which ones I will post on their thread, lol. They were only 4 1/2" (11.43 cm) in length and approximately 2 1/2 weeks old when I got them so they were EXTREMELY tiny and each one fits perfectly in my hand. They are growing so quickly and are really thriving. They absolutely love one another so much and truly enjoy playing hide-n-seek in the tissue box and chasing games around the boxes, lol; taming is going great. Their personalities are quite different from Snickers, but they are all so extremely special and lovable in their own wonderful way. I am truly blessed. My heart is beaming that I have them to love and cherish now, and I know Snickers will be happy for me, too. I really, REALLY miss her every single moment of every day.

A few nights ago, I had a scare. Although I realized that Eros had an EXTREMELY busy night being extra silly and creating a HUGE mess as evidence of her crazy adventures in her cage, I began to get worried that I did not see her cute face all evening long as I usually did even after a big night before. When it turned 1:30 AM and she still didn't come out, I began to get really scared that something was definitely wrong with my little Baby Bee. I decided to place her most treasured treats at the entrance of her burrow and did my soft, whistling sound which she always came out for when she heard it as it signalized "Come out, Eros; play time!". After none of those methods worked, I really began to panic so I decided to remove bits of her bedding from the entrance and slightly uncover portions of her nesting area to see if my darling heart-ham was still with me as tears began to well up in my eyes. Then, all of a sudden, I saw the most glorious sight of all. The tiniest, twitching, pink nose immediately poked out from the remaining bedding of Eros's nest and out emerged my Baby Bee's face from the hole. She cocked her cute head, one ear popped straight up while the other remained down for a bit, and she looked at me with the silliest face possible. She gave the biggest yawn ever, did a long stretch of her front legs, and proceeded to eagerly climb into my palm of my hand and give me numerous of much needed whisker kisses. Of course, the happiest tears ever began pouring down my face as I rejoiced that my loving Eros was just sleeping after all and didn't even realize that it was extremely past her usual waking up time and I was scared for her. Of course, we made up for all of that lost time and she received tons and TONS of cuddles and was spoiled with EXTRA mealworms; we also had an extra long playtime of hide-n-seek and peek-a-boo, and she excitedly run up and down on my arm to whisker kiss my cheek time as I giggled with overwhelming joy that all was fine. I sure do feel incredibly silly for being so scared but I just had a hollow, empty, dreaded feeling inside of me that things were really wrong so I naturally panicked. I just love Eros so much and couldn't even imagine life without her. I'm happy that I can now just laugh about the whole experience and feel reassured that my darling Eros is back to her usual silly, active self again as if nothing ever happened.

Here are a few pictures that I was able to capture of my precious Eros since we have been back from our vacations.

Mum, look how tall my mountain grew overnight; it now is 1 1/2 feet (45.72 cm) tall of poofy whiteness - YIPPEEeeee!!!!!!! I love running to the peak of it and then burrowing speedy quick into it and having Mum watch all of the "snow" scatter absolutely everywhere, lol.


I wonder where this bridge leads to now that my palace has been rearranged? Thanks, Mum!


These poppies sure are lovely, but where's my treats? Come here, Yummies; my cheek pouches and tummy need you A.S.A.P.!!!


Oooh, S-P-A-G-H-E-T-T-I, not quite the wiggly worm that I was expecting, but it sure is scrumptious slurping in, lol. S-L-U-R-Pppppp. . . . YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY NATIONAL WATERMELON DAY!!!! - Today, August 3, is a day to celebrate that juicy watermelon slice that some may consider absolutely irresistible. I, of course, do not enjoy eating watermelon in the slightest but truly appreciate the beauty of the fruit instead. To celebrate this occasion, I treated myself to a special watermelon milkshake since I heard that it is supposed to be quite refreshing and does not taste too watermelonish, lol. I was pleasantly surprised that I actually mildly liked it. I also wanted to do something extra special and memorable for my beloved fur babies, too. Therefore, when my family decided to eat their slices of watermelon to commemorate this holiday, I requested three chunks for my precious fur babies to enjoy in my place. After all, I thought it was only fitting that they try their first bit of watermelon on a day dedicated specifically to eating it. Boy oh boy, was I in for an absolute treat of hysterical laughter!!!!

Hinata took less than a second to begin nibbling her chunk of watermelon. She did it quite gracefully, moving from one end of the piece to the next in a very systematic manner, and she absolutely didn't make a mess at all. She even took her time to groom herself in the middle of the experience to be sure that she looked her finest for the occasion and photos. I had to smile as watching her do so made sweet memories of Snickers come straight to my mind. After she tried a few nice-sized bites, I decided to remove the watermelon as I didn't want her to overdo it.



When it came time for Arwen to have her taste of watermelon, she just gave it a couple sniffs, snorted at me, and looked at it with total disinterest. When I held it up to her to try a few small nibbles, she cunningly placed her face in such a way that it appeared that she was eating some. She placed her mouth directly where Hinata's bites were and just sat there staring at me so innocently. I had a few giggles and told her she couldn't fool me that easily. Of course, she looked at me with that "What's wrong Mum, can't you see that I am nibbling on this STUFF?" look on her mischievous face. After she did not look enthusiastic about it, I decided that Arwen may be like me and not care much for it. Therefore, I took it away from her.



Lastly, it was Eros's opportunity to try her own special, juicy watermelon chunk. She immediately starting chomping down on it as quickly as she could and then proceeded in instantly shoving the entire, huge chunk into her cheek pouches with the silliest expression on her face. I must say that she looked absolutely ridiculous having her pouches gorging with watermelon, and it even maintained its shape so she looked even crazier looking at me. When I hysterically began laughing and informed her that she wasn't acting quite ladylike, she unpouched the chunk which surprisingly was still almost in its original form (just more compacted) prior to being stuffed inside her pouches. I was so shocked to see that it even had the individual bite marks on it, too. Eros looked at me and daintily began nibbling one tiny morsel at a time and even had her little paws posed so elegantly that I couldn't help laughing even more. After a few seconds of doing this, Eros couldn't help herself and began speedily gnawing on the top portion of the watermelon chunk as if she was an efficient lawn mover cutting grass. At that point, I told Eros that she had enough for now as this is supposed to be a tasting, not a gorging, of watermelon, lol. She looked a bit confused that I could even imagine removing her yummy, but with a few extra cuddles, all was well in Eros Land once again.

Aww seems all three of them enjoyed having the watermelon, if not for the taste, then for it being really refreshing. They look so cute nibbling on their slices of watermelon It's a nice treat for them indeed. Personally I love watermelon haha!

Thank you so much, Livedinhogwarts! I'm glad that you enjoyed the pics; we had lots of fun taking them. You would have had a great time eating plenty of watermelon and celebrating today then. I wish that I enjoyed eating a slice of fresh watermelon, too; however, I still haven't acquired my taste for it and probably never will, lol.

Late this evening, Eros enjoyed searching for her mealworms among the flowers. She popped her head in and out of the clusters of flowers and looked so cute doing so. I'm sorry that the pic showing her doing so isn't too clear, but it was sweet so I included it here. She sure is great at finding her treats and looked so proud of herself after she had collected them all. Great job, Eros!!! You're a master at capturing all the creepy crawlies.

The watermelon pictures are so cute! Arwens reaction to the watermelon made me laugh and smile. Hinata seemed to have quite nice manners! Haha Eros is to funny with her little nibbles and cheeks full of watermelon! That is so cute how Eros was on the search for mealworms! I can’t believe I didn’t read this thread sooner! Coco, the first pic of Eros with her watermelon was taken just after she had managed to unpouch the entire piece and I was hysterically laughing at the sight of it so she was probably reacting to my laughter and wondering what was so funny, lol. Heehee. . . . doesn't she realize that she is my mini-clown and I think absolutely everything that she does the silliest and most entertaining thing possible? I'm actually quite surprised that I managed to capture that photo since I was laughing so hard that my camera was probably shaking a bit too much. Sasha - I'm so glad that you are enjoying Eros's thread. That definitely means a lot to me and makes me smile. I also am very fond of your adorable Libby and enjoy all of the wonderful moments and pictures that you are sharing as well.

Btw, I just wanted to mention to everyone that I had made a mistype concerning the age of Arwen and Hinata and am so sorry about that. They were approximately 2 1/2 months (not 2 1/2 weeks) old when I got them. I just realized that I made that mistake on Post #851 when I was rereading it earlier. Oops!!!

Oh my! Such lovely pictures! I sure did miss Eros over the past month and it's nice to see more of her.
I can only imagine how relieved you must have been to see her cute little nose peeking out of her nest! The cuddles and whisker kisses must have been really calming after such rough scare. I'm glad that she was perfectly alright and continued being her usual cheeky self. I suppose it's her way of saying she missed you so much while you were away and wanted to show you how she felt so that you both have a much better and loving moment to cherish your bond together? All the pictures are really beautiful. Love the pictures of your new fur babies too. Too cute!

I would've loved to enjoy some slices of watermelon Shame I didn't haha. You should definitely give watermelon another try dreamtree! It can be so hydrating, especially in the summer months.

Everytime I see a watermelon from now on, I know I'm going to have those very cute pics of Hinata, Arwen & Eros in my head lol! Triple gorgeousness! I too don't like watermelon, I find it a bit bland.
Dreamtree, I know that feeling when there's no response, my heart jumps into my mouth and I find myself feeling sick with worry and then this little cute face peeks out wonderimg what all the fuss is about.
So wonderful seeing loads of Eros, as I missed her when you were away.
