Sounds like Eros kept herself busy sand painting her cage. That must have been so lovely to see - it a shame that you couldn't get a clear photo but I'm sure you will always be able to remember her beautiful masterpiece. Eros is so creative!
Eros looks so sweet in that photo! So lovely that you both shared your breakfast - but it does look like from that photo she confused to why she couldn't have all the toast. Also it is so sweet that she comes out and brighten up your morning!

Master Harvey's checking you & Eros are OK what with Hurricane Harvey hitting America.
He's not happy about his good name being used in the naming of storms.

Dear dreamtree,
Just spotted you on the forum and that you're safe what with Hurricane Harvey in Texas. So awful seeing the devastation on the news. Because you've just got United States as where you're from, I wasn't sure where abouts you were and Master Harvey was concerned about Eros. xxx

ThinLizzy and Master Harvey, I just spotted your posts. I'm so sorry that you have been worried about us. I haven't been on HC since there was lots of bad weather where we are and my internet service has been down for a few days. Thankfully, we were not in Hurricane Harvey's path, but there were lots of heavy rain, severe thunderstorms, hail, and even tornado warnings here. We are all fine though and have been praying for all those affected by Hurricane Harvey. XXX

I'm so pleased the both of you are fine, when Hurricane Harvey first struck, I thought of you and then seeing people & their pets getting rescued, I imagined Eros in a boat being taken to safety.
I'll be sure to tell Master Harvey his American ham-friend is fine.

This past Monday, I was awakened by an unusual rustling sound coming from somewhere in my walk-in closet. At first, I thought it was just my imagination, but it kept on occurring to my great surprise so I decided to check it out. There in the center of the closet stood Eros on her hind legs, cocking her head sideways with the most amused look on her face. Needless to say, I could hardly believe my eyes since she was "supposed" in her bin cage on the other side of my house. I knelt down to get her as slowly as possible so I wouldn't startle her, but at that moment she scurried as quickly as possible into the back corner of the closet behind a few of my Christmas decoration bins. As I called her name, she crept slowly out from her hiding place so I tried lure her out with a few mealworms as bait. I almost caught her when she suddenly jumped up with her hindlegs kicking out like a bronco and scurried quickly into the back corner of the closet again. I decided to make a trail of mealworms to lure her out of the closet completely so I would have better access to capture her in a small bin so she wouldn't be able to escape from me again. After a few minutes of calling for her and her peeking her head in and out from behind the large bins, she ate one mealworm at a time and came out into the open. I knew it was my chance so I gently placed a bin on top of her and slid the lid on the underside of it. Eros looked amused and began to groom herself with a very pleased look on her face. Needless to say, I spent the whole rest of the day doing some adjustments to her bin and also made a screen covered lid for her cage. Even though her cage was technically tall enough previously, she periodically likes to shimmy up her wheel and stand on top of it. I didn't anticipate her ever being able to jump up, over, and out the top of her bin from her wheel, but I will never make that mistake again. I will never again underestimate her extreme willpower to do the impossible. I was so scared while it was happening, but now that she is securely locked in I can smile at her ingenuity and bravery. I'm just so pleased that she is safe and sound all nestled in her burrow right now. Lol, she did manage to thoroughly entertain her ham-sitters as I made her screen lid, and they all laughed as they told me of all of her silliness and outrageous behavior. Eros surely is an adventurer and constantly keeps me on my toes, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Miss Eros has had an exciting time, has she been making a nest in your closet? I wonder what you're going to find in your slippers. It's great she had such fun and lucky that you found her quickly so you didn't have to worry long. No wonder she's 007.

Ruth - No, I took absolutely everything out of my walk-in closet and luckily there were no additional surprises - no nest, pee, or poos anywhere. She also didn't urinate or poo in any other rooms either - I checked just to be sure she didn't have a detour on her way to my room, lol. She probably just came straight to my bedroom since she knew I was in there and decided to wake me up with some rattling sounds. She probably wasn't there long, either. I'm sure glad that she is tame and comes when she is called for the most part, lol. Yes, I think her name with the added 007 is quite fitting with all of her stunts that she pulls.
