I know Drago, I don't need that problem of a missing Heaven (figuratively) but I would worry so much & be stressing out

Oh, what a mischievous hammy Heaven is. I'm sure that it must have totally confused you to see Chloe and Heaven next to each other like that. I am so happy that it all turned out well for you and Heaven. It could have been quite scary otherwise.

Dreamtree, you said it right & I was confused for a moment lol

I bought a fleece snuggle pouch, supposed to be for Melody my Chinese hammy. But it's huge, at least 12 in x 12 in. So I put Heaven in it instead & she loves it, going to be a great taming tool.

The material is so thick & soft. Heaven better not chew on the fabric

I could only imagine! I lost Duncan one time and I absolutely broke down after the fifth hour of him being missing. Found him in the bag of treats naughty ham! How old is heaven again? I feel like I've asked this question before, but can't remember

Heaven is at least 18 mo? She did have smaller teeth & long nails when I got her. Now she has thicker teeth & I had her nails trimmed 7 mo ago & they still aren't even close to needing another trim. The teeth throw me off tho, why have they grown?

The previous owner said 5 mo, but they didn't say what age she was when they brought her home? If she's close to 2 yrs that wouldn't surprise me?

I'd say that's reasonable. She's in amazing shape for a 1.5+ year ham though! Her teeth likely have grown due to a better diet with more minerals and nutrients. When an animal is nutrient deficient, they put all nutrients towards surviving. However, when they have enough, they can direct it to smaller details, like their teeth. That's just my theory anyways

That sounds right, never thought of that. She was very neglected so that makes perfect sense.

I'm so glad that Heaven enjoys her fleece snuggle pouch. It will probably come in handy when the temperature gets slightly chillier in a few months. Heaven is such a darling hammy, and it break my heart that she was so terribly mistreated and neglected earlier in her life. You definitely are her hero, CB.

Thanks Dreamtree, Heaven was on the very verge of jumping to freedom again tonight cause I keep forgetting to put the lid on her cage which is only a 12 in jump to the floor.

So I caught her almost in the air & brought her up to almost my neck area & stroked her for awhile. She laid perfectly still soaking it all in. I told her how sorry I am that she has to live in a cage. She seems happy and I give her lots of different kinds of treats. Tonight she had a piece of apple & lettuce.
I'm going to put a note on the cage so she can't escape again, or anymore close calls.

What a close call, Cinnamon Bear! I'm glad that you were able to catch her and she is fine. I'm sure that she loved all of that extra attention and treats, too. Putting a note on the cage sounds like a wonderful idea.
