Mine's favourites seem to be yoghurt drops (special hamster ones!) and unsalted peanuts. There's very little that she won't do for half an unsalted peanut, though they do contain a lot of calories so you do have to be careful they don't put on too much weight...

Apart from that, however, she does enjoy little bits of vegetables (e.g. a kernel of sweetcorn, carrot or a pea... or generally whatever is going into our dinner that night!). I think she has something of a sweet tooth, so it's a good job that Syrians aren't prone to diabetes as many dwarves are!

I do, however, sometimes feed her bits of her regular hamster food through the bars. At least that way she's getting something nutritious, as well as the bonding experience.

He might like pumpkin & sunflower seeds, fresh veggies, mealworms, papaya treats, Greenies or Whimzee dog treats, mini milkbones for dogs, bunny carrot chews.

Whimzees and the Supreme Gerty Guinea Pig Scrummies go down very well with my Syrian Dried fruit can be worth trying if you get good quality dried fruit with no added sugar or harmful preservatives(such as sulfur dioxide).

I let my Syrian show me his favourite treat by putting a piece of each in front of him and letting him take one. He chooses a peice of these every time: Supreme Tiny Friends Farm Russel Rabbit Treats on Sale | Free UK Delivery
(The fruity ones)
So you could try these! However they're rabbit sized so I break them up into little hamster sized pieces

Just not the munchers,as the munchers have leek in them which is unsafe for hamsters and all small pets including rabbits and guinea pigs. The fruities are good though!

The leek is precisely why I don't have the munchers

Serena Jayne 98 did put the fruity ones in brackets her original post. So it was clear which ones were being given to her hamster.

I do the same for Jessie and although seeds are her absolute favourite thing in the world, she's quite happy with her ordinary food if it means she's getting attention.

I have Chinese so their preferences may be a little different from a Syrian's but mealworms always go down well just as small pieces of chicken do and although they like things like the Harry Hamster Yippees, they only get them occasionally.

When I had a Syrian living with us, he seemed less enthusiastic about the small seeds than the Chinese are but seemed to prefer nuts more than they did.
