All About My Pumpkin

Thank You Thin Lizzy, cypher, AprilPearl and BorisPasha. Pumpkin can be very mischievous and cheeky - although she has perfectly mastered the innocent face!

AprilPearl, I don't often get to see Pumpkin sleeping and since the weather has cooled down she been sleeping in her house again - so I haven't seen her sleeping since.


Spelling and Surfing

Clever Pumpkin! She has a kabob hanging in her cage with some ABC blocks hanging on them - when setting up her cage I tried to see if I could spell a word which fitted in with her cage layout - so I came up with "SEA" with a sailing boat. Pumpkin has been regularly moving the blocks around - mixing up the letters. Last Wednesday morning I had noticed she had moved the blocks again although this time she had managed to spell a 4 letter word ... "SEAL!"

She looked very impressed with her spelling ability (I did straighten the blocks out before I took the photo) ...

As well as trying her paws at spelling - Pumpkin has also started a new hobby - Surfing! I didn't have my camera to hand instead had to use my phone - so here is Pumpkin riding a wave! ... I think she is a natural!

Also here is a couple more photos I took the other evening of Pumpkin enjoying her mealworms and linseeds and also her begging for a cuddle!

I realised the other evening that it been a while since I last weighed Pumpkin - so thought I would check her weight and she still remains the same weight - 188g.
Pumpkin has also been thoroughly enjoying digging the last few night in the morning I wake up to see piles of fitch everywhere! Although I can only see the entrance to one of her tunnels - it is well hidden between her grass nest and the edge of her cage!
Pumpkin even got a piece of carrot delivered straight to her house today - which she was very happy about!

I am just catching up on Pumpkin's wonderful thread as I haven't been on HC much lately due to having family visiting. I surely missed a bunch of wonderful pics and hysterical tutorials. I truly love this thread, SKB! Pumpkin is quite the character. I love, love, LOVE her tutorials on how to capture the perfect hammy pictures, the many uses of the sand bath, and the different ways grass nests are used and beloved. LOL!!! I will be sure to share them with Eros when she wakes up. I'm sure that she will love these helpful and silly study guides as well. As always, Pumpkin is absolutely gorgeous! I definitely agree with Thin Lizzy; Pumpkin is truly breathtakingly stunning and a definite princess. Her expressions and antics are so priceless as well. I love that she has the most innocent expressions while being mischievous, too. She makes me laugh so hard. What an entertaining little lady she is, and I am sure she keeps you on your toes, SKB! LOL!!! I loved her bobbing for her treat stick in her water bowl, spelling the word 'seal' (and practicing for Wheel of Fortune?), and surfing the big hung-a-bunga, big kahuna wave! What a talented beauty she is!!!!! I also absolutely adore her most precious pics of her sleeping; she is such a Sleeping Beauty!!!! I just can never get enough of gorgeous Pumpkin in all of her glorious beauty. She doesn't need to sleep to gain beauty and treats; she's the queen of beauty and charm already!!!!

Pumpkin's top of the class with her word, she's such a clever girl, as for her surfing lol! She sure knows when to pose. My favourite pic is the last pic, just look at her face and paws, it's as if she's saying mom there was this much. I want to hamnap her lol!

Awww Pumpkin is so clever! I'm very impressed that she made her own word but still kept the sea theme

The pics are great SKB, I imagine her surfing in Hawaii in those pics with her flower garland above her lol. She looks very happy and like she is having a lot of fun anyway. Did you get the blue things with the corrugated card inside at P@H? I seen similar looking things for cats there but thought they could make interesting toys for the hams in the playpens.

Pumpkin hasn't been able to spell anymore words with the ABC blocks in her cage - although she has tried obviously she knows that the blocks can't spell any other words. AprilPearl, she might start leaving me messages, yes like FOOD or even possibly WORM (for mealworms), or HUGS! Might have to give her some more blocks and see what she comes up with!
cypher, yes, Pumpkin did enjoy surfing her playwave! Occasionally I see her climbing over it but she is also really enjoying running through the holes more - obviously prefers to scuba dive more than surfing! BorisPasha, No, I actually got it from Petsmart last year when I was on holiday (http://www.hamstercentral.com/commun...63-post10.html) - I saw it in the small pet section and thought it would be a fun playpen toy. I have also seen similar things for cats too.

The last photo is also my favourite - I currently have it as the background on my phone - it reminds me on a mime artist and she pretending to be stuck inside my phone or you could be right Thin Lizzy by her telling me their was this much mealworms and now they have all disappeared - so can she have this many more mealworms!

Dreamtree1234, thank you for your sweet reply - Pumpkin is very pleased that you and Eros are enjoying all her how to guides! I think they really capture her special personality really well! She does have wonderful expression - unfortunately I tend to miss lots of her expressions - she has some that really make me laugh but when I get my camera she moves - typical! Yes, she does keep me on my toes - as she always up to something. I'm a little sad that the weather has cooled down for me as I no longer can see Pumpkin asleep in her grass nest - as she looked so cute but she is a lot happier now that's it cooler so I'm glad I got those photo when I had the chance!

Stuffed Pouches and Hamtrum!

For a while I have been meaning to share the photos I got of Pumpkin with her stuffed pouches - I actually took the photos after I had cleaned her cage out and she has one pouch stuffed with tissue and the other with forage! It was a little difficult trying to get Pumpkin to stay still for long enough for my camera to focus - but I luckily managed before she decided to empty her pouches - as she doesn't often use her pouches and I didn't want to miss this opportunity!
Also please excuse my chipped nail varnish - I didn't plan for my fingers to be in the photo as I was trying to get her attention so she would look at the camera but instead she decided to hold onto my fingers!

Thursday Evening, Pumpkin had a hamtrum as I was unable to get her out at her usual time for her cuddle time as I was out! When I got home I went to get Pumpkin out and this when I noticed she had a hamtrum - as he cage was a right mess! Although Pumpkin had been keeping herself busy by digging - as well as moving her tunnel entrance to her house! This photo shows where she moved her tunnel entrance too - although when she went to bed she had forgot she moved her tunnel entrance so made a new one nearer her house/beneath the bendy bridge!

As Pumpkin was nowhere to be seen - I called her name and I couldn't hear her. So I thought she was asleep - upon calling her name again - I could hear her but couldn't work out where about she was! I was expecting to see her emerging from her newly constructed tunnel but that's when I realised she was still in the process of digging and was beneath the stand for her wooden wheel. She was excited to see me and was happy to get to come out for some cuddles! But Pumpkin definitely kept herself busy whilst I was out!

I currently in the process of finishing off Pumpkin's DIY birthday present that I have made her for her Birthday next Sunday! I'm really looking forward to making sure her 1st birthday is extra special for my special girl!

I'm always just so impressed with Pumpkin's setup, I assume she's a very happy ham. Lol, her spelling seal, maybe she's trying to tell you something? Lovely pics of her stuffed cheeks, and the hamtrum lol, they do the darnedest things

She certainly knows how to keep herself occupied when cuddles are late bless her glad all was forgiven & you had cuddles together in the end

Pumpkin certainly has been busy trashing (I mean reorganising) her cage! Very cute picture of her with stuffed pouches. She looks very sweet looking forward to Pumpkin's birthday!
