Happy Belated 1 Year Adoption Anniversary, Pumpkin! I'm sure she had a marvelous time celebrating it with you and thoroughly enjoys all of her lovely new presents. I'm glad that Pumpkin is enjoying using her orange litter container for peeing, but hopefully she will not use it for sleeping too for long. She must really love it! She so deserving of being spoilt; I can't even imagine anyone returning her after only a few days of having her as a pet, but I'm so grateful that she has you as her amazing and loving mum, SKB! It must have been almost impossible to choose which pic to use for each month in the collage as every single picture of Pumpkin is absolutely amazing. I totally love the collage you created of every month together with your beautiful, charismatic, adorable, silly, etc. Pumpkin! I also love that you included the two extra pics!

Pumpkin and myself had a very special day celebrating her 1 year adoption anniversary. Although I didn’t see Pumpkin until 8:30pm when she woke up for her cuddle time, - it was a little surprising seeing her waiting for me as all of the previous week she had decided to have a lay in until almost 9pm – obviously knew that Sunday was a very special day and was excited to see her presents. We enjoyed lots and lots of wonderful cuddles, as Pumpkin was being extra cuddly! When we weren’t having cuddles I also took some photos of her …

It really was so hard choosing only one photo from each month – as I have so many favourite photos from each month. At one point because I was finding it so hard to only chose one photo, I thought I would have to use 2 photos from each month but I tried to pick photo which showed of her very special personality and those which bring back so many wonderful memories. But then with the template I was using for my collage – I could include two more photos so I knew I couldn’t leave out her 1st birthday photo or her HOM winning photo. I cant stop looking at the collage and seeing how much she grown up and remembering all the lovely moment we have shared together in a year.

Yes, I am planning on doing an autumn themed cage layout when I clean her cage this Tuesday – then halfway through the month I will decorate her cage with a few Halloween themed DIY decorations.
I’m little confused as to which item you are referring to – but I think you are referring to the ones at the bottom of the picture – they are hazel wood disks.

Another Knuff Shelf

When I kept going into my craft cupboard I keep noticing the pieces of the knuff that were leftover from when I made both of Pumpkin’s knuff shelf. I kept trying to think of ways I could use them in Pumpkin’s cage and finally came up with an idea I was happy with. So I decided to make a small shelf which I made to the same height to which I have her fitch at – as I already have 2 higher shelves – so I can use her ceramic mushroom house in her upcoming cage layout and won’t be worried about I falling on her when she digging in her fitch.

When it came to painting I was confused to what colour to paint the shelf as I wanted to keep its natural look but I wanted to add a splash of colour to the shelf. I liked the idea of having a bit of artwork on her shelf – but as my painting skills aren’t very good I can up with another idea – it involved cutting some leaf shapes out of thin card, painting them with plastikote in autumnal colours and then glued the leaves onto the shelf. I then painted the shelf over with 2 layers of clear plastikote sealing the leaves in the paint. This was really easy and I got the desired look I was after. I finished of the shelf with a fluted dowel fence around the edge of the shelf which I securely glued to the shelf.

I’m really happy how this shelf has turned out and I’m very excited to use the shelf in her upcoming cage theme.

Pumpkin's photos of her birthday are great! I love all of them. She looks so adorable as always. I especially love the the three grooming pics - they are amazing! How sweet that she is beautifying herself for her very special party! You don't need to do extra grooming, Pumpkin; you are stunning just as you are!

WOW! SKB, the DIY Knuff shell is totally AMAZING! I love it SO much and can't wait to see it in the Autumn/Halloween cage design. You are so talented in creating such wonderful DIY masterpieces for your sweetiepie! I'm sure Pumpkin will thoroughly approve and enjoy it tremendously! The shelf is STUNNING; Pumpkin sure is a lucky ham!!!!

Thank you dreamtree, cypher and BorisPasha. I am really looking forward to setting up Pumpkin’s cage this month as I have been busy recently making a few other items DIY items for her autumn/Halloween theme.

The majority of the photos I have taken recently of Pumpkin have been photos of her washing – as before I get my camera she out and about and posing – but as soon as I turn my camera on she runs into her cork log and has a wash. But I don’t mind having lots of cute photos of Pumpkin washing – the photo of her washing her face is a favourite of mine too.

Last night, Pumpkin was waiting for me – at exactly 8:30pm. But before I got Pumpkin I had to quickly tidy up some craft items that I hadn’t gotten around to tidying up. Pumpkin was a little confused why she hadn’t come out yet and was staring at me and then started getting all excited about coming out. A few minutes later I went to get Pumpkin out but she decided it was time to have a wash and have a quick snack before coming out – typical! So whilst I was waiting I got a few more photos of Pumpkin having a wash before she started begging to come out for cuddles …

Just wanted to let you all know that I do plan to continue posting photo I take of Pumpkin this month on this thread instead of in the 31 Days of October thread, so Pumpkin's photos are all in the same place - however Pumpkin and myself have been working on a number of Halloween photoshoots which I will be posting towards the end of the 31 Days of October thread.

Pumpkin's Palace Cage Layout - October 2017 - Autumn Themed

Today I spent my afternoon cleaning Pumpkin's cage as well as creating a completely different layout of her cage - to make a change from the usual set up - although I was a little worried that Pumpkin may be a little shaky/unsure she didn't seemed bothered at all by the change and has been thoroughly enjoying herself this evening exploring. I really enjoyed setting up the cage and very happy with how it turned out - majority of the cage is natural themed with splashes of Orange, Purple, Green and Red to give a autumnal aesthetic. This layout includes Pumpkin's new autumn themed knuff shelf (which her petco mushroom house sits on) alongside a matching DIY Leaf Garland (made from DIY cardboard leaves which I then painted, hazel disk and wooden sticks).

Whilst cleaning Pumpkin's cage, Pumpkin was fast asleep in her carrier beneath a medium bendy bridge which she ends up covering with fitch, therefore submerging the bendy bridge. I often have to wait a little while for Pumpkin to decide to emerge when I finished setting up her cage that this time I thought I would get some photos of Pumpkin coming out from beneath the bendy bridge which I though were too cute not to share ...
