Good to hear you're feeling better & taming & bonding sessions are back on track & going very well by the sound of it.
lol! @ her keeping an eye on you with that innocent face, she probably doesn't want to miss anything nice, it's very convenient sometimes when they'll sleep through a bit of a clean up or other things we might need to do in the cage but so sweet when they come out for a look see too!
She's obviously enjoying making her home her own, the bar chewing is a worry though, hope you can get that sorted & she begins to concentrate on enjoying things in the cage more rather than the cage itself!

I missed your first post of this little beauty, she's gorgeous glad she has landed her paws on you and that you have given her a great forever home! Looking forward to see how she progresses.

... cypher, I hope she will start to find there are more exciting things to do than chewing the bars - I did hide treats in cardboard tubes and boxes but she had no interest in those. ... Thin Lizzy she has been really enjoying her in the bucket wheel during taming sessions. ... Abi5sos1d Pumpkin waves a paw to Peanut.

Pumpkin's taming has been going really well and our bond is improving, however some sounds she is still unsure about but we will continue working on that to continue to build up her confidence.
Pumpkin has mastered begging for treats - how can I say no to her cute face - I have been hand feeding them to her which she completely find about and doesn't mind my hand being in her cage.
I re-arranged her cage on Friday - kept most of her substrate and gave her some new toys and her 28cm trixie wheel - which she has started putting food in - she didn't mind at all with me re-arranging her cage - it did seem to calm her down a little and reduce her bar chewing a little. I have started attaching cardboard on the outside of the bars where she normal bars chews so she can't chew them - but she still find somewhere to bar chew. Hopefully I will have my solution ready for her in the next couple of weeks - hopefully as soon as possible.

I did decide to get her out for a taming session/playtime tonight as well as the one she had this afternoon to wear her out - but she far to energetic in the evening she constantly kept climbing out of the playpen so fast I couldn't keep up with her so I put her in a ball for a short while - which she seemed to enjoy running around hopefully that worn her out a little - but I doubt it as she is a hyperactive hamster - which I do enjoy!

Pumpkin does enjoy watching me - whenever I do anything near her cage she will sit at the bars and watch me - looking all sweet and innocent. She comes to the bars when I start talking to her listening to what I'm saying - well most probably she just begging for mealworms!

Awww bless her I'm glad she's really warming up to you now, Peanut is just the same she's always go go go, you can open up the lid to her cage and she'll be gone in seconds! It's crazy how fast and hyper she is, she's rarely a cuddly hammy but I still love her to bits nonetheless.

Hi Sweep - no I haven't tried porridge yet but my human did say I could try some tomorrow though - hopefully it comes with mealworms. I'm making a lot of noise though putting food in my wheel - it's so much fun!

Pumpkin is warming up to me some days she a little bit skittish being handled, but she does enjoy climbing over me. Its really sweet seeing them all hyper and crazy - although it would be nice if they occasionally slowed down a little - as I would like to stroke her smooth fur for a bit longer.

Yeah exactly, my little sister's hamster Spook is very cuddly and I kinda wish Peanut could be as calm as her sometimes, she will cuddle into my lap but it's very rare and it's usually if she gets startled by a noise and she needs me to calm her down.

It is so sweet when they watch what we are doing - I always talk to her to tell her what I'm doing when she watching - the expressions on her face are so sweet.

Pumpkin's Playtime and Porridge

Pumpkin got a free-roam playtime today - in the hamster safe part of my room which I sectioned off using my DIY playpen divider, she had a lot more space to run around in and also it's escape proof so she couldn't escape - as recently during her taming session she has been mainly climbing out of the metal playpen instead of running around and exploring. She really enjoyed herself, didn't seem bothered by the amount of space she had and I could sit inside with her so she could climb on me - she was confident, sweet, cheeky and naughty - as she kept trying to chew my carpet so I had to keep blocking off where she was trying to chew. During her playtime I gave Pumpkin some porridge for her to try which I mixed in a few seeds, mealworm and also put a small piece of cheese on top. She seemed to enjoy the porridge, and during her playtime kept returning to the bowl and eat a little bit more. After eating the porridge she gave her face a wash. I got a few photos of Pumpkin enjoying her porridge and washing her face - I did try get photos of her running around her playpen but she was running around to fast ...
