So today it finally happened! What I've been waiting for since we brought Romeo home, the ultimate sign of trust; he washed himself while sitting on my arm!
That makes me so happy!

Romeo is everything I wanted…
We got him because I wanted a more laid back hamster, cuddly even, and we had read that a Syrian male was most likely to be that.
Today, three months later he is as cuddly as can be expected from a still not fully grown Syrian and he trusts me completely!

To not make this post completely cuddly, I wanted to try and see what would happen if I held him in front of my nose… now, zelda will automatically lick it, which is why I was curious… he did not lick it… he did however try to taste it, with his teeth

That was a first and last…

Look what he's doing! My shy little boy is all of a sudden climbing up my arm each time I put my hand in his cage.

He even climbed on top of my hand and just sat there, when I was trying to spot clean a bit

I have NEVER seen him behave like that before.
Do you think it's a permanent thing or just a sudden boost of confidence?

Your little Romeo is growing in confidence, he obviously trusts you to do that and you should be feeling very proud of your progress. A wonderful bond.

I'm so jealous right now!!! Lucky you!! He was so tiny when you adopted him and now he has grown so much...as his love and trust for you. I'm glad for you!
