There is a thread and YouTube video on making a playpen. It uses flat square panels and you cable tie/zip tie them together. I built one using 2 packs of the open fronted storage cubes and it is really big.

just thought id share an update on cup:

He has been a very messy hammy, loves to throw sand everywhere and bedding is all over the place lol. instead of sleeping in a little hidey i give him he sits on top of them and likes to dig tunnels so that he can sleep in the bedding, i dont want to move things around too much so that i dont stress him but the cage is killing me with how messy it is and i need to make a side note as to add more bedding when i do a cage clean so that he can make more elaborate tunnels lol. Also started to tame him yesterday, it went great. He loves adventuring but i can see hes not very trusting of me as he started off avoiding my hands at all costs but in the end, ended up crawling up my arm and around my back then down my other arm. But still dosnt trust me to pick him up so i transport him through a tube but im really proud of him, hes very brave.

Sounds like he's having fun, I like a messy cage lol! it's usually a sign of a happy ham

today the mess got the best of me though and i ended up changing the layout a bit, but i think cup really enjoyed it, I made a section where there is a pile of bedding so he can dig and he did that for a good hour around 10 am, now being 11:30 am he finally went to bed he was pretty excited. Another thing i find funny is that instead of sleeping in hideys he will sleep under bedding or in the middle of his cage. It worries me when he sleeps underneath his bedding though as I feel like he escaped when i cant find him. But today he just slept halfway under a tunnel that leads to the pile of bedding, the poor guy was all pooped out from all the digging he did this morning lol

Hi Cup,
This is Pippin but everyone calls me Pip, just wanna say Hi and I tries escaping but I gets caught, then my human teases me and puts me outside on the garden lawn in a cardboard playpen, even then I try to dig my way to freedom.....
I lets my human think I'm crazy it's all part of the plan..

Elliiy, is it hot where you are at the moment? If so it may be that Cup has decided it is too hot to sleep in his house or whatever so is sleeping in the open. Or maybe he just prefers being out in the open!

hi pip,
it is i cup i must escape so i can train for the hammy olympics i feels like its coming up but idk i have lost the track of time with alls the training which means i just have to train harder becasue they coulld be any second now. when i tries to escape i alsways get stuck on the invisible walls and idk where they end so i cant climb them but i try my best anyways.

where i live is super hot but indoors not so much, i leave my fan on at all times since cup is always in my room and i dont want him getting too hot when im out so idk maybe it still is hot for him but its liike 70 degrees inside my house which is really nice compared to the 100 and so degrees it is outside lol
