I'm very sorry to hear about your Guinea-Pig and my condolences are with you. But it so nice that Aurora made you smile and comforted you.
Happy Birthday for tomorrow - try to enjoy it as much as you can as it is still a special day. Aurora will be there to help you feel better.

Happy 21st Birthday Enerham!

So sorry for the loss of your guinea pig, remember you were with her in her final moments and that will have been a comfort. Bless little Aurora for sensing you were upset.

I'm so sorry for your loss, it's always hard to lose one of our pets but not knowing why always makes it harder, so glad that you have Aurora to comfort you.

Hope you can still enjoy your special day.

Thanks everyone. It wasn't a great day. I still felt ill so I didn't do much other than bury my pig. Still have no idea what happened to her, and its really bugging me now. I keep on checking her two cagemates for any signs of illness, much to their annoyance.

The hamsters birthday gift to me was an orchestra. Aurora dangled from the side of her cage (I'm going to try and get a picture later) and began chewing the lid, Mitch climbed the bars and had a nice chew of them, and then Ben joined in and decided to run in his wheel so quickly he made the entire cage vibrate. I didn't know who to take out first!

It's always hard, but it's even worse if things like that happen on special dates. With time I'm sure you'll be better.

Sometimes I think that some hamsters must be musicians in other life. If you need a rattle (wheel with food inside) shaker I can share one

Thanks Hamsterita! Once I work out who the conductor is I'll ask them.

Yeah, they're all being their usual cheeky selves and it's helping to cheer me up. Another thing that's helping is that the two pigs I had with the one that died seem to be getting over the shock a bit themselves.

I tried to get some photos of Aurora's little face last night, but she decided she'd rather show me her belly (she just hangs there until I take the lid of her cage off).

She did, however, decide I could show you her bandmates. So, presenting Mitch, the hamster doesn't seem to know he's old:

And Ben, cage vibration specialist.

Edit: no idea why two of those pictures are sideways or so big...
