Re: All About My Sherbet
Thank you to Thin Lizzy (and Harvey), cypher and Serendipity7000. I try to remember when I'm missing her that she happy, free of pain and is at peace now, when I'm outside and see where she is buried it a little upsetting but I say miss you to Sherbet. What I'm finding the hardest is that I'm unconsciously thinking that I need to check on Sherbet to make sure she ok, that when it upsetting, so that why I'm trying to keep my mind occupied on something positive as well as reminding myself of the good times too. Each day is getting a little easier but still hard.

Re: All About My Sherbet
My heart goes out to you SKB, some days will be better than others. That emptiness feeling is horrible. She may have been small in size but, she had a huge heart of love and adoration.

Re: All About My Sherbet
It is the automatic things like checking on them or preparing their food that can be really hard, it just hits you again & again but that will get easier with a little time.
To begin with I find being with them where they are outside very upsetting but I always sit & talk to them for a while each day & it soon becomes more of a comfort than anything else, once the first most painful stages have passed it's actually one of my favourite places to be, it's different for all of us of course but I hope you find that works for you too.
One day at a time, things will get easier & the happy memories will outweigh the grief.

Re: All About My Sherbet
I could sometimes go a couple of days and then something happens and the tears are rolling down my face. Some of the things Twinkle did and remembering would have me laughing then I'd feel guilty and burst into tears. Having the cushion so helped because I could hug and squeeze.
