Sherbert is such a pretty hammy. I love her very curious expressions in the photos. She looks wonderful for a 2 year old hammy.

Thank you DrKMcK. Sherbet is so curious especially when I have my camera out its looks like she is wondering why she is not in hand instead. She still has so much energy which is surprising for age (as none of my past hamsters were as active as she is at her age).

That is a beautiful nest she made there! And her cage looks really fun and cosy and interesting. Hope things go well at the vet's tomorrow. Sounds like she deserves more treats afterwards

I know it was a beautiful nest and it was her first ever nest she made, I felt really bad when I had to clean her cage out. Her cage isn't as intresting as it used to be it now it is only on one level so it more suitable for an elderly hamster. I'm hoping everything will go ok to at the vets tomorrow especially for Sherbet, but she enjoys going to the vets as she loves the attention. She will definitely be getting a treat after her trip.

She was awake earlier and I had to help her as one of her eyes was stuck shut. But before I knew it she was running around playing in her play area so she had her first playtime since her accident. She had so much fun, but didn't have her out for to long though, I don't want wear her out to much. When she went back in her cage she had something to eat and has gone back to bed now.

Nice work on the nest Sherbet
She did a good job there! I like that last photo best, she's such a sweet girl.
So glad she got her appetite back again, hopefully she is gaining weight & it's the scales that are wrong. Hope all goes well at the vet.

Thank Cypher. The last photo is the best it looks like she was so proud of her nest. It clear that Sherbet is also good at a bit of DIY herself!
I'm hoping it's the scales that are wrong as when I weigh her the numbers fluctuate from around 115 to 130g, and doesn't look as thin as when she went to the vets when she got weighed. She will be getting a treat after the vets and hoping that everything will be ok.

That last pic of Sherbet, her face says it all - look what I've built mum!
Perfect too, just like her.
Hope everything goes well at the vet.

Thanks ScoobyWoo I know it was such an impressive nest that she made.

Sherbet's Vet Update
I took Sherbet to the vets earlier. He said Sherbet is doing really well he didn't feel that it was necessary to cut her bottom teeth, but he is concerned whether both her top teeth will come back through as it looks like one is, but he said if they don't both come through he would want to extract both her bottom teeth (which I feel would be unnecessary and would be really to stressful for a 2 year old hamster) but I don't understand why they can't just continue to trim her bottom teeth if they don't both grow back as she has adapted really well with having just her bottom teeth as she uses them to scoop up her wet food so if they did have to extract her bottom teeth (so she would have no teeth) she would struggle to eat. But I'm hoping that both top teeth will grow back. I wanted him to weigh her but he didn't as he said she looked like she has put her weight back on so he didn't feel it was necessary to weigh her (I wanted some reassurance to determine whether she has put the weight back on that she lost - so I have no idea how much she weighs as my scales are playing up). So I'm a little upset, annoyed and stressed with this vet trip luckily I didn't have to pay anything.

Sherbet got some grated carrot as a little treat and she having her cuddle time now. As long as she is happy I'm happy!

So would you feel it was necessary for Sherbet to have her bottom teeth extracted if both her top teeth don't grow back? Or whether it would be best to keep trimming her bottom teeth to a suitable length?
