Re: Willow's Thread
Happy Birthday Willow! Good idea to stuff the rest of your birthday feast into your pouches to finish later. Perhaps 'doggy bags' could be re named!

Re: Willow's Thread
That's an amazing birthday dinner - it looks very cordon bleu - excellent. I bet she had a whale of a time tucking in there. I always find they want to go straight back to the cage after pouch filling as well. Either to eat in the privacy of the house, or to hoard things. I sometimes find Charlie is quite amenable to coming out again for a play once he is de-hoarded, but when his pouches are full he is on a mission to get back home!
Happy Birthday Willow! Charlie says that life begans at 1 (ie 40) and it gets really interesting.

Re: Willow's Thread
Willow says thank you
Serendipidity - Haha Willow did the exact same thing!! As soon as her pouches were full to bursting, she started scrabbling around trying to escape

Re: Willow's Thread
Willow here
So a few days ago something really weird happened. I was sleeping in my wheel as always - mummy wasn't laughing as much as I was which I found strange - when I was woken up and plonked into this weird place with a red fuzzy thing on the bottom! Obviously, I objected to this so I attempted to escape - but the walls were too smooth and I kept sliding back down them! Shortly after I had given up, Mummy placed a weird hard cold thing in the middle of this place and said 'Eat up!" - so I did! I have no idea what all that was called, but it was super-yummy! Once I had decided I'd had enough, I started burrowing under the red fuzzy thing but had to stop when mummy pulled me out again
Then, she placed another hard cold thing in the middle of the red fuzzy thing! This one had stuff called 'booberry', 'narna', 'hole meel bred' and 'yoggert' - it was yummy! After tipping it over and nibbling on it even more, I decided I wanted out again, so mummy put me back in my cage
When I was put back I found another new thing! In the place of my favourite hidey tunnel was a weird hut thing made out of the funny white stuff mummy thinks I use for nesting. I was furious! After ferociously tearing it up, I got my tunnel back! Yay!

Re: Willow's Thread
Thank you Pinkneon!
I actually made the picnic using these two tutorials:
BANANA BLUEBERRY GATEAU FOR HAMSTERS!! - YouTube
3 Tiny Picnic Meals | For Hamsters - YouTube
Haha I'm sure Sweep would love a birthday picnic, might be an interesting story on his thread as well

Re: Willow's Thread
Lol
I'm not completely sure when his birthday is ... I got him in March and he was 8 weeks old, so am guessing his birthday to be around 12th January! Bit cold for a picnic so will have to think of something for him LOL

Re: Willow's Thread
Lol, it's quite cold here considering its June!!
I didn't actually take Willow outside, I just put a towel down in a dry, empty bathtub and did it in there
