Thin Lizzy, I am so glad that you and Harvey have been able stay cool. I certainly hope that the weather cools down for all of you soon. Harvey is so, SO cute and I totally love his coloring, expressions, and antics. Harvey is AWESOME!!! I look forward to backtracking in your thread as time permits. I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Master Harvey's Long Weekend

Hope you all had a great holiday weekend.

Friday was our hottest day and I almost melted in the heat while at the supermarket, I had planned on going to P@H for Harvey but decided against it and got a taxi home.
When I got home, my flat was nice and cool and Harvey was in his flowerpot, this keeps him cool. I told him about my shopping and that I didn't go to P@H, he looked at me as if to say 'What No Treats?' Aww Harvey you won't starve, mom would never let that happen and he went into his house and blocked up the entrance to his house

His entrance has been open with the heat so him blocking it up was his way of letting me know he was having a hamtrum lol!
It didn't last long, in the evening he was sitting at the cage door wanting cuddles and a massage and I got a whisker massage in return.
Saturday was much cooler, torrential rain late afternoon and thunder, it got so dark at one point and then this big loud roar and bang, Harvey was peeking out of his house and I told him it was ok, and I sat next to his cage and chatted away to him. I rewarded him with melted cheese on a rather large spinach leaf and his eyes went so big it made me giggle.
Sunday Harvey's favourite day!
Master Harvey loves asparagus, so he had that with roast chicken, I bought a boneless joint which is so succulent, he also had broccoli tenderstem and sweetcorn and he tried to drag his dish into his house, what a noise as it was banging against it and I was crying with laughter. He did give up and afterwards he came out his house and licked his dish till it sparkled and he held onto it when I went to take it away. Aww!
Later in the evening he did his long stretches and some hamnastics and I let him jump out his cage onto a load of cushions, he's such a hamtertainer.
On Monday morning, I found his whimzee in his sputnik along with half of his cone, he's been doing some weight lifting and carrying them up his bendy bridge to his sputnik, I was speechless and of course he was rewarded with a breakfast hamper-picnic.

I do laugh at Harvey's hamtrums lol! I'm sure he knows Mum would never let him go without, maybe he thinks it will get him extra special treats!
We had thunder here too, glad Harvey was ok, I'm sure he felt very safe with Mum chatting to him & I'm sure he quickly forgot all about it when he saw the cheese & spinach!
No wonder he likes Sunday so much with his delicious gourmet meals

He's such a good boy keeping fit with his hamnastics & weight lifting!

I don't know why Master Harvey would want nasty pet shop treats having "melted cheese on a rather large spinach leaf". I know I would prefer the last one!!

I'm glad he is as good and cuddly as usual, and that everything is ok! I'm sure your company make the storm easy to handle for him!

There is no end to Master Harvey's talents

We never got the thunder and lighting which I was pleased about. I was stressed enough about the hams being too hot lol. Glad you were able to comfort Harvey by chatting to him. He seems like a very good listener

The melted cheese on spinach sounds delicious as does his roast chicken dinner.

Dear Harvey, my silly mum reads me all of your news particularly about your fabulous Sunday lunches. Little does she know that I have your news quicker than that because of our chats on the ham phone. You are very good about the regular contact because I don't crank up the wheel phone as much as I used to. Old age I suppose. Anyway, I was sorry that your Mum spotted the ham phone bill. Bit of a blow but I gather you charmed her out of being cross. Well done! Delighted you are keeping Mum entertained in so many different ways. We have discussed that this is the best way to keep the flow of deliciousness treats coming your way. Glad the hot weather has passed. My fur is not so thick this year so it was not too bad for me. Mum is always so pleased to see me when I come out for a drink that I beg for a treat too. I get a daily treat that is yummy soft veg but I have to lick it up and cannot pouch it. It is an easy thing to do to get Mum pleased with me!
Do keep in touch my ham pal even if I don't always answer the ham phone because I sleep a lot these days.

Master Harvey's Pics & Captions!

On Monday evening I cleaned Harvey's house, for a while now I've been doing Part Cage Cleans and Harvey likes this and has adjusted so well and I prefer it too.
One thing he's particular about is that his house is cleaned weekly and whenever I go over that time he'll chew his cage bars and bang his whimzee against his flowerpot. Throughout the week he'll leave me little piles of pooh outside his house for me to remove. He's so house proud and particular.
I've even stopped putting a heavy catalogue on top of his carrier while I do this, he waits for my knock on his house and he comes out and into his polkadot tin and into the carrier, there's no trying to escape. Thank goodness for that red polkadot tin, he loves it so much..
He still approaches his house slowly and will look back at me and I've gotten use to telling him 'There's No Bogeymen, mom has checked' lol!

My apologies for lack of Master Harvey pics this month, I've told him he needs to respect his fans and if he wants to keep them, he'll need to let me do regular photoshoots. There was no point threatening to stop his roast chicken, cause he knows I don't mean it.

Sounds like you have the cleaning routine well sussed between the two of you Lizzy, I love that Harvey tells you when it's time for some house work!

Harvey sounds so cute when he throws a hamtrum! His gourmet treats sound alot nicer than pet shop treats. Its nice that he quickly forgave you.
Lovely that you comforted Harvey through the thunderstorm. I didn't get the thunder storms until 1am on Sunday but Pumpkin had already disappeared back to bed and blocked her entrance off - she was probably fast asleep!
Sounds like Harvey had another perfect Sunday!

Its so funny how they let us know when they want something cleaning or changing in their cage - Sherbet also used to chew the bars and her bang toys against the edge of the cage when she wanted something changing.
There is no need for Harvey to be camera shy - as he is so handsome! I always love seeing photos of him - he looks like he is really enjoying his treat stick.
