Re: Pippins thread
Isn't it strange how the behaviour of Hammies change/vary so much, until recently Pip was getting up at 6.30 in the evening popping along to say hello and see what titbits where in her cage for her.
Now that has stopped and if I didn't physically get her up I would barely see her at all I go to bed about 10pm and am up at 5am Pip if she is up does a few tours of her Skywalk sniffs about for food bits as I scatter feed her treats etc and she then stays in her cave...

Re: Pippins thread
That last video was so cute
I'm having a similar thing with mine too, they all seem to be getting up much later & going back to bed way too early lately!

Re: Pippins thread
Mushu's schedule seems to be quite regular so far. But, maybe because the evenings are getting lighter, some hamsters are waking up later?

Re: Pippins thread
So then for a change last night I woke Pip up about 8pm once she was fully awake I took her outside into the big wide world and let her loose on the lawn very carefully supervised of course, not sure if she enjoyed it or was shocked by it, but once I picked her back up she wanted down for further forays I did get a little video of her excursion, so far it is only in her insta account.
With the good weather I think further lawn excursions may be in order, hopefully it will enrich her life experience.

Re: Pippins thread
Oh wow, the lawn! Bet Pip enjoyed that. I'd never be brave enough to try that with my hams (especially due to the number of neighbourhood cats - including my own two!), so Mushu is going to have to stick with the hall.

Re: Pippins thread
Loved the video on instagram and the photos Rads. Looked like she was very curious and having a good sniff. I thought she was about to sprint off in to the distance just as she was picked up lol.

Re: Pippins thread
Hi Folks,
Haven't had much to report on the Pip front, things have been much of a muchness, there is one thing though,
Pip appears to have gotten rather smelly of late, she has developed quite q whiff, the last time I cleaned out her cage, I noticed madam has gone back to peeing in her house, I thought she had stopped that as she uses her sand bath to pee in.
I am assuming that this is the cause of her whiffiness plus add in the warming weather, as for Pip's health she is in top form or so it would seem.
Any ideas would be much appreciated....

Re: Pippins thread
The only idea Rads is that the lovely Pip is like my Mocho. He has always used a hamster potty to pee in and still does even in his old age.....but, he also pees in the outer room of his multi room house. My guess is that if he wakes and needs a pee when sleepy he cannot be bothered to go across the cage to the potty so it is into the en suite bathroom for a quick pee and back to bed. I can spot clean that room without disturbing his nest next door which remains dry. Have a look at the Rodipet houses on zoo plus if you think this could help you.
