Re: Being Sweep - the life of a hamster!
Hi! It's me, Sweep again!
The pink human lady woke me up! She said she hadn't seen me since my adventure so she wanted to see if I was ok. But then she said she wasn't going into her "bed" thing until she knows I am ok - so I was supposed to drink something. So I did. For about 2 seconds! And right now I am running in the wheel thing and then I shall go for a dig and have some dinner!

Re: Being Sweep - the life of a hamster!
Oh pinkneon, I did laugh at Sweep's adventure and the bed being lifted up. Sweep had a wonderful adventure. They can be so quick, Twinkle has shot of behind the sofa a couple of times and I'll block an end of so that she comes out the other or the front bit. One time she sat behind it for almost 2 hours, the reason for her coming out was cheese lol!
But, like you I worry.

Re: Being Sweep - the life of a hamster!
The thing is though I still can't pick him up so it was a nightmare trying to catch him! It felt like hours but in reality it was only a few minutes!

Re: Being Sweep - the life of a hamster!
I can pick Charlie up and it was still a nightmare trying to catch him when he made a run for it once. It was very late at night and I was up till about 2am while he nipped from one end of the sofa to the other. Every time I went to one end, he went to the other. Then he went under the book-case. I got him by putting some cucumber in a tube and he walked straight into it. And I thought he was clever lol.
Hope Sweep has recovered from the excitement of his adventure.

Re: Being Sweep - the life of a hamster!
I just read your other thread. I think this is normal hammy behaviour when they get a bit freaked about something. Hope he settles down soon x Food sometimes distracted Charlie. Like hiding a few special treats in various places in his cage, but try not to move anything in his cage or he'll get more freaked at the change in his environment.

Re: Being Sweep - the life of a hamster!
My syrian Spike went on an adventure too. He dissapeared into a hole in the wall behind the radiator and was gone for about 6 hours or so. I thought I had lost him forever but then my Hubby caught him sneaking out to get some food . He was very agitated for the next few days. He just wanted out and back into his wonderful playground inside the walls. I think it'll take a few days for Sweep to settle down again too so don't stress about him being a bit hyper. You do need to watch him though because once they figure out an escape route they become obsessive about it and keep trying. Spike's adventure was when he was a young ham and even now he'll still occassionally investigate the radiator on the off chance I've forgotten to block it off .

Re: Being Sweep - the life of a hamster!
Ooh I love the photos. He looks gorgeous - and especially adorable in the snack photo and rolling in the sand. I like the little brown smudge of colour on his nose It looks like he's had his nose in tomato soup! Lol. He is a gorgeous grey colour.
